It would be a while before I could go on any missions again. With the spare time I had, I could finally get to work on some creative projects. But first, there was something I wanted to look at. After my last class was dismissed, I headed off to the library.

In the time I've been alive, I have lived in six continents and I attended fifteen of the Institute's schools (now sixteen). I wanted to see what sort of place Darkwick was.

I found a book titled "A Guide to Student Housing." The first few pages outlined the process for sorting ghouls and general students into one of the school's seven houses.

Frostheim, the house that embodies prestige and nobility.

Vagastrom, a.k.a. the "delinquent stomping ground" of the school. Rumors said the captain was arrested for murder before enrolling.

Jabberwock, which emphasizes harmony with nature and cares for anomalous creatures.

Sinostra, which ran a casino on the campus and was practically a mafia of its own.

Hotarubi, where all the students always had some sort of artistic endeavor occurring.

Mortkranken, where students specialized in anomalous medicine.

Lastly, Obscuary. One of the newer houses and one the students never really know too much about. All I heard was the sun never shone and the vice-captain was extremely attractive.

Wherever the ghouls were sorted would affect the power balance of the houses.

I then reached a section titled "Defunct Houses." Three names were written: Dionysia, Ultio, and Clementia. They all closed last year.

More than likely, they shut down because of the Clash.

The page beside it had a list of all the general students which were reassigned. None went to Jabberwock and Obscuary.

When my parents first told me of our move to Tokyo and my enrollment at Darkwick, I thought nothing of it. I had repeated this process fifteen other times. Now, with each passing day, I was left with more questions. Whatever scars the previous year left also made students, my own friends included, reluctant to share any sort of information.

It must've been really bad.

And it made me more curious to learn what happened.

"Find anything good, Echo?" Luca peered from the corner.

"Just some information about the school's houses. Nothing too exciting."

"By any chance, have you come across any books on demons?"

"I'm sorry, I haven't," I looked around the library's vast collection, "There has to be at least one somewhere. Have you tried asking the teachers?"

"I asked Professor Hyde on the first day of class. He said he couldn't give me a good answer but I'll learn more about demons as I go on missions."

When I first met Luca at Emrys last year, he was very clear on his mission to learn to subjugate demons. His twin brother had been taken by one and left no indication where it went. It was this drive that led to his transfer to Darkwick.

How such a thing could've happened in the first place, I left it up to my imagination.

At least his brother didn't sell him out to a demon.
