The next morning, the house was very quiet. Too quiet. Hyunjin was the first to notice something was off.
“Where are the cats?” she asked, looking around the living room.
Minho looked worried. “They were here last night!”
Seungmin joined in, checking every corner. “Did we leave a door open?”
The house was usually filled with the sound of their three cats meowing and playing. The unusual silence made everyone uneasy.
“Channie, did you see the kitties?” Han asked his youngest son, who was playing with his toys.
Chan shook his head. “Channie don’t know. I was sleeping.”
Changbin, eager to help, suggested, “Maybe they went outside!”
Everyone rushed to the backyard. The gate was slightly open.
“They must have gone out,” Minho said, looking worried with tears forming in her eyes.
Now the whole family was in a frenzy, searching every corner of the house and yard.
“Check the bushes and the garage,” Hyunjin ordered, her voice tinged with worry.
Han, Hyunjin, Minho, and Seungmin spread out, calling for the cats.
“Here, kitty kitty!” Chan called out, his little voice echoing down the street.
“Bokie, do you see anything?” Minho asked his daughter, Yongbok.
Yongbok shook her head. “No, Mommy.”
The kids were trying their best to help, but the search seemed hopeless.
The family decided to split into groups to search the neighborhood. Han and Hyunjin took one direction, while Minho and Seungmin went another. The kids tagged along, eyes wide and alert for any signs of the cats.
“Let’s check the park,” Hyunjin suggested.
“Good idea,” Han agreed.
They walked through the neighborhood, calling out for the cats and asking neighbors if they had seen them.
“Have you seen our cats?” Han asked Mrs. Park, their neighbor.
“No, I haven’t,” she replied. “But I’ll keep an eye out for them.”
Just when they were about to give up, Changbin spotted a familiar tail sticking out from under a bush.
“I found one!” he shouted, pointing excitedly.
Everyone rushed over, and sure enough, there was one of the cats, looking a little guilty but otherwise unharmed.
“Good job, Binnie!” Seungmin praised, scooping up the cat.
Buoyed by their success, they continued their search with renewed energy. After a while, they found the other two cats hiding in a neighbor’s garden, equally guilty-looking but safe.
Back home, the cats were given extra food and cuddles, much to their delight.
“I’m just glad they’re safe,” Minho said, hugging Seungmin tightly.
“Me too,” Seungmin replied with a smile and blush on his ethereal face.
The kids, worn out from the excitement, were soon put down for a nap. Even the usually resistant Changbin didn’t protest, too tired to argue.
As peace settled over the house, Han and Hyunjin collapsed on the couch, relieved but exhausted.
“We need a better lock for that gate,” Hyunjin suggested.
Han nodded. “Good idea. We don’t want another escape.”
“Agreed,” Minho added, joining them on the couch. “At least our kids are good at finding things.”
Seungmin chuckled. “Especially fluffy things with whiskers.”
The family enjoyed a rare moment of calm, the cats curled up contentedly around them. It was just another day in their wonderfully chaotic lives.
As evening approached, the family gathered around the dinner table. Tonight's meal was simple, just some pasta and salad, but everyone was grateful to be together.
“Today was crazy,” Hyunjin said, twirling her fork in her pasta.
“Yeah, but we all worked together,” Han replied, smiling at his family.
“I’m proud of how we handled it,” Minho said, giving Seungmin a warm look.
“Even if we were running around like headless chickens,” Seungmin joked, making everyone laugh.
After dinner, it was time to get the kids ready for bed. The excitement of the day had left them exhausted, but not too tired for their favorite bedtime stories.
“Daddy, can you read the one about the brave knight?” Chan asked, snuggling under his blanket.
“Of course, Channie,” Han said, picking up the storybook.
In the other room, Minho was tucking in Yongbok. “Do you want a story too, Bokie?” she asked.
Yongbok nodded, her eyes heavy with sleep. “Yes, please”
Seungmin joined them, sitting on the edge of the bed. “I think tonight’s story should be about three brave cats and their great adventure,” he suggested.
Minho smiled. “That sounds perfect.”

The next morning, the family woke up to a sunny day. The cats, back to their playful selves, were chasing each other around the house.
“I guess they’ve forgotten about their big adventure,” Han said, watching them with amusement.
“Or maybe they’re planning their next one,” Hyunjin joked.
Minho and Seungmin were in the kitchen, making breakfast. The smell of pancakes filled the air.
“Today, let’s have a calm day,” Minho said, flipping a pancake.
Seungmin laughed. “With this family? Good luck.”
