It was a typical weekend in the household, and Han had decided it was time for a little home improvement. He had a plan to fix a leaky faucet in the kitchen, which had been dripping for weeks and driving everyone crazy. Han was confident he could handle it, despite his lack of plumbing experience.
"Hyunjin, I got this," Han declared, rolling up his sleeves. "How hard can it be?"
Hyunjin raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure? Maybe we should call a plumber."
"Nah, I’ve got it under control," Han insisted, grabbing a toolbox.
Minho, overhearing the conversation, chimed in. "This should be good. I’ll grab some popcorn."
As Han set to work under the sink, the rest of the family gathered around to watch. Changbin and Chan were particularly excited, seeing it as an impromptu live-action comedy show.
"Pass me the wrench," Han requested, sticking his head out from under the sink.
"Which one?" Hyunjin asked, holding up three different tools.
"The big one," Han replied, pointing without really looking.
Hyunjin handed him a wrench, and Han went back to work. A few minutes later, there was a loud clunk, followed by a gush of water spraying everywhere.
"Uh, Han, I think you made it worse!" Minho called out, trying to contain her laughter.
Han scrambled to stop the water, but it was too late. The kitchen was quickly turning into a mini swimming pool. Seungmin ran to turn off the main water valve, but not before everyone got soaked.
"Great job, Dad," Changbin said, giving him a thumbs up.
"Thanks, kiddo," Han replied, dripping wet but still determined. "It’s just a minor setback."
With the water off, they managed to clean up the mess. Han, undeterred, went back to work. This time, he studied a YouTube tutorial on his phone.
"Step one: turn off the water supply," Han read aloud. "Okay, done that. Step two: use the correct size wrench. Oops."
Hyunjin chuckled, handing him the right tool this time. "Third time’s the charm?"
As Han worked on the faucet again, the kids gathered around, making bets on what would go wrong next. Yongbok, always the optimist, bet that Han would fix it this time.
Just as Han seemed to be making progress, there was a sudden bang, and the faucet handle flew off, hitting Seungmin in the shoulder.
"Ow! What was that?" Seungmin exclaimed, rubbing his shoulder.
"The faucet handle," Han said sheepishly. "But hey, the leak stopped!"
Everyone burst out laughing, even Han. "Alright, maybe we should call a professional."
Later, as they waited for the plumber to arrive, the family gathered in the living room, still chuckling over the morning’s events.
"You know," Minho said, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes, "we should have recorded that. We’d be viral by now."
"Yeah, Dad, you’d be a YouTube star," Chan added, grinning.
Hyunjin leaned against Han, giving him a peck on the cheek. "At least you tried. That’s what matters."
Han sighed, wrapping an arm around her. "Next time, I’ll leave it to the professionals. But hey, it was an adventure, right?"
The plumber arrived and fixed the faucet in no time, leaving the family with a working kitchen and a hilarious story to tell. As they gathered for dinner that night, Han raised his glass.
"Here’s to family, laughter, and knowing when to call for help," he said with a grin.
"Cheers!" everyone echoed, clinking their glasses.
