It was a bright and sunny Saturday morning, and Hyunjin had decided it was the perfect day to start a family gardening project. The idea was to plant a vegetable garden in the backyard. The whole family, including Han, Chan, Changbin, Seungmin, and Minho, was roped into helping. (Yongbok and innie were out for amusement park rides)
"Alright, team," Hyunjin announced, clapping her hands together. "Today we’re going to create the most beautiful vegetable garden ever!"
"I’ve never gardened before," Changbin muttered, eyeing the gardening tools warily.
"How hard can it be?" Chan asked, picking up a trowel and waving it around like a sword.
Minho laughed. "Famous last words."
The first task was to clear a patch of ground. Han and Seungmin were assigned to this job, armed with shovels and a wheelbarrow. Meanwhile, Hyunjin, Minho, and the kids began organizing the seeds and plotting out where each vegetable would go.
"Let’s put the tomatoes here, and the carrots over there," Hyunjin said, pointing to different spots.
"Are you sure this is going to work?" Seungmin asked, struggling to dig up a particularly stubborn patch of weeds.
"Of course!" Hyunjin replied confidently. "We just need to follow the plan."
An hour later, Han and Seungmin were sweaty and covered in dirt, but the ground was cleared. "Done!" Han announced, wiping his forehead.
"Great job, boys," Hyunjin said, giving them a thumbs up. "Now, let’s start planting."
Minho was in charge of the seeds, carefully placing them in neat rows. Chan and Changbin were supposed to help, but they quickly got distracted by the garden hose.
"Look, I’m a firefighter!" Chan yelled, spraying water everywhere.
"No, I’m a firefighter!" Changbin shouted, grabbing the hose and soaking Chan.
"Hey! Watch where you’re spraying!" Seungmin called out, narrowly dodging a jet of water.
Hyunjin sighed. "Boys, can you please focus?"
"Sorry, Mom," Chan said, trying to look innocent while dripping wet.
As they continued planting, a loud buzzing sound filled the air. "Bees!" Minho shouted, ducking for cover.
"It’s just one bee," Hyunjin said, trying to calm everyone down.
The bee, however, had other plans. It zoomed around, causing everyone to scatter. Han, who was terrified of bees, ran in circles, waving his arms wildly.
"Get it away from me!" he yelled, tripping over a bag of soil and landing face-first in the dirt.
The bee eventually flew away, leaving the family to regroup and finish planting. By the time they were done, they were all exhausted and covered in mud.
"Well, it’s not perfect, but it’s a start," Hyunjin said, surveying the slightly crooked rows of seeds.
"At least we tried," Han said, brushing dirt off his clothes.
"Yeah, and we didn’t give up," Changbin added, looking proud.
Later that evening, as they sat around the dinner table, everyone was in high spirits despite the day’s challenges. They laughed and shared stories about their gardening adventure, each adding their own humorous twist.
