It was a rainy afternoon(it's raining a lot irl too TwT), and the whole family was stuck inside the house. Boredom was beginning to set in, so Han decided it was the perfect time for a DIY project. He had recently watched a few YouTube videos about making homemade furniture and felt inspired.
"Alright, everyone," Han announced, clapping his hands to get their attention. "Today, we're going to build a bookshelf!"
"A bookshelf?" Minho asked, raising an eyebrow. "Do you even know how to build one?"
"How hard can it be?" (You said that last time too bro😭)Han replied confidently. "We've got all the tools and materials we need."
Seungmin chuckled. "This should be interesting."
They gathered in the living room, where Han had laid out all the pieces of wood, screws, and tools. Hyunjin, ever the skeptic, sat back with a cup of tea(queen llama), ready to watch the chaos unfold. Chan and Changbin were excited to help, eager to prove their skills.
"Okay, step one," Han began, looking at the instruction manual. "We need to assemble the base."
Minho handed him a piece of wood, and Han started to screw it into place. However, within minutes, it was clear that things were not going according to plan. The screws were going in at odd angles, and the wood was starting to splinter.
"Uh, Dad, I think you're doing it wrong," Changbin pointed out, peering over his shoulder.
"Nonsense," Han replied, his brow furrowed in concentration. "I've got this." (Really?)
As Han struggled with the base, Chan decided to take matters into his own hands. He picked up the hammer and started banging nails into a piece of wood, hoping to help. Unfortunately, he missed and ended up hammering his thumb instead. (Bro you're just FOIVE!)
"Ouch!" Chan yelled, shaking his hand in pain.
"Maybe we should let Dad handle this," Hyunjin suggested, trying not to laugh.
"Or maybe we should call a professional," Seungmin added, smirking.
Han refused to give up. "We can do this. We're a team!"
They continued to work on the bookshelf, but it quickly became clear that DIY was not their forte. Pieces of wood were falling off, screws were getting lost, and more than one finger got hammered. At one point, the entire structure collapsed, leaving them with a pile of wood and a lot of frustration.
"Okay, I admit it," Han said, throwing his hands up in defeat. "Maybe this was a bit more complicated than I thought."
Minho burst out laughing. "A bit? This is a disaster!"
Hyunjin couldn't stop giggling. "At least we tried, right?"
As they cleaned up the mess, Yongbok came into the room with a curious look on her face. "What happened here?"
"We were trying to build a bookshelf," Chan explained, still rubbing his sore thumb.
"And we failed miserably," Changbin added, grinning.
Yongbok shook her head. Their DIY project might have been a failure, but it had brought them together and given them a story to tell for years to come.
(QOTD: What's your name?)
