We reached the complex and I got off his bike.
We both walked through the gate, Daniel leaving his bike by the stairs.
It was silent the whole ride through,
till well, now...

" Y/n, you okay?
You haven't talked the whole ride through. "
He bent down talking to me while we walked,
" What's a matter? Cat got your tongue or somethin'? "
He joked, but when he noticed I didn't laugh or even budge a smile,
his smile dropped.
"Hey, Y/n/n, wait a minute. "
Running after me from the stairs that were dimly lit by the lightpost.

My eyes maneuvered to to his face.
It looked as if he wanted to say something,
but he couldn't bring himself to.
" Wait, Y/n- "
Daniel, laughing,
I heard his footsteps follow from behind.
Why was he laughing?
Did he really forget about it.?

I turned around with a straight face.
" What's a matter? "
His face with a smile,
until that slowly faded away.
Looking down...
Now I don't hate him,
but the way he made me feel stuck me with me.
Did he really forget???

This sucks.

" What- What's wrong? "
I heard him step closer,
I look up to see him 5 steps away from me.
I couldn't really form out on what
to say to him.
It was sinking in now.
From Mr. Miyagi's house I as focused on what Mr. Miyagi went through,
so I didn't think of this till well, now...

I guess he really forgot about my birthday.

" Why aren't you talkin'?
You alright, Y/n? "
I felt his hand cup my shoulder, but I move and brush him off softly.
A hurt look plastered on his face.
" What's wrong is that you didn't
show up tonight, Daniel. "
I tell him, I feel my eyes get watery.
" What do you mean I didn't show up tonight? "
Clueless.
He was clueless I tell you.
" Do me a favor when you get inside, huh?
Check your damn calendar on what today is. "
I roll my eyes, putting my keys into the door...
Then just as I shuffled with the keys,
they party hat attached to the belt loop
of my pants fell on the ground.
" Fuck. "
I muttered, picking it back up,
hoping Daniel had at least caught on.
BUT NO.
NOTHING.
Nothing...
I felt bad talking to him this way,
but I couldn't always just be all nice
and say "it's fine" when it isn't.

Then he,
" You know... I had a pretty bad night too, Y/n. "
Daniel started off, he looked down.
Did he now?
" I- I got spaghetti sauce spilled all over me,
from the uh,
from the country club at Encino. From the- the kitchen. "
So he did go to see Ali.
He continued to explain further, stopping myself from entering my apartment.
" I was there to get Ali, but Johnny was there too!
And you know what!? "
" What. "
I say blankly.
I knew there still was a part of me that cared
why HE had a bad night.
" Ali kissed Johnny, Y/n!
She kissed him! "
Those words made my stomach drop.
Even if i didn't like the guy right now.
I still had sympathy. I felt bad for him.
" I- I saw them through the kitchen
window. And- "

" Well, I'm sorry to hear that Daniel.
I'm sorry that your nice outfit got covered
in spaghetti sauce and that
your whole night was ruined
all because of a pretty blonde girl who kissed her ex boyfriend right front of you! "
I raised my voice a little, stepping a little closer.
" You don't understand!
If that didn't happen, Ali and I,
we would've been at
Golf n' Stuff checking out those
cool water slides!.... "
I gave Daniel a pity yet hinting look,
as his words died down.
I knew he just realized he had missed it.
He didn't remember.
That he forgot about my birthday.
That he left me waiting for him to show up.
His mouth was hung open.
Before he could say anything, I,
" Yeah and I wouldn't have been waiting at the arcade for an hour looking like
a complete total idiot. "
I bring myself to laugh, a few streams of tears
fall from my eyes to my cheeks.
With that, I open the door but Daniel,
" No Y/n!
God, I'm so sorry I missed your birthday!
I didn't mean to! "
He rushed after me, grabbing a hold of my wrist.
Swiping his hand away,
I push myself into the room.
" God I'm such an idiot! I'm sorry, Y/n.
Please? You'll have to forgive me. "
" I know I will, but right now isn't a good time.
It's late and I'm tired. "
Shutting the door in his face, I see him maneuver to the window, knocking on the glass.
He kept saying 'sorry' and that
'he'll never know how to make it up to me'
" Please, Y/n?? Hear me out!
Can we talk, please?? "
I hear his words fade, since I turned back around, moving the curtain.
" You have to let me explain, please? "
Once I reached my room,
he didn't stop knocking on the door for maybe almost 7 minutes.
Then he stopped.
The knocking was gone, his voice apologizing over and over again disappeared.
After locking the door, I had gone into my room.
