Birthday...

" Y/nnnn! "
Jack whined as we were making
our way to the field.
He was dragged right behind me.
We had just left 5th period,
heading to the last class of the day, which was
Physical Education,
P.E...
You ask why exactly?
I had to join soccer practice since I missed a couple of classes in this subject.
I'll be joining it till the end of this week... Thankfully.
" Quit tugging on my sleeve, Jack. "
I laughed, trying to pull my arm away.
" But, you said we'd go to Golf n' Stuff
this Friday! Which is today!
And- And I'm not gonna be able to be here
to celebrate your birthday with you!
A frown planted on his face, acting as if he were my younger brother.

" Yeah, I know!
But that was before Ms. Fraser
dragged me to her classroom. "
Rolling my eyes, walking closer
to the girls' changing room.
As much as I wanted to leave and help him get ready for it,
I couldn't risk getting a low grade on P.E...
" So??? You know she won't even notice
if you're there or not! "
My best friend continued to ramble on about it.
That's when we both stopped
right in front of the girls' gym room.
A sigh escaped my mouth, waiting for him to stop talking.
" And another thing is that I won't be back for a couple of days!
Ergo, this is our last chance to spend time together before I do go- "
" Okay! Jack! Just stop talking for a second. "
I shook my head.

Do I skip P.E?
If I do, I'll be failing
the easiest subject in school...
But if I join the class,
then I won't get to hang out with Jack for my birthday...

See, I dislike my birthday,
but Jack always makes a big deal out of it and insists on celebrating it.
I turned 17 today...
The original plan was that I'd be spending
the whole day
with both him and Daniel at Golf n' Stuff.
But Jack and his family are leaving before 9 pm for their flight.
They were going to see their grandparents
back in Malibu,
which is soooo far from Reseda...
Where's Daniel you may ask?
He's out there playing soccer,
something I should be doing right now.
Anyways he said he'd just follow at the arcade a little past 8,
so it'd be perfect timing for him
when Jack would leave.

Which meaaannsssss...
DO I skip this class or not?

" So, Y/n? "
Jack, with his head tilted to the side,
a hint of hope in his words.
Do I???
I question myself again.
A sigh escapes my mouth,
" Run to my locker, grab a pen, and take a piece of paper from one of my notebooks. "
I instructed him, a smile beaming on his face before he ran leaving my side.
Chuckling to myself and thought,
at least I got someone who cared this much about my birthday.
When my dad couldn't even give
two shits about mine...

I'd rather spend it with Jack and Daniel
rather than with my own father.
I know it sounds selfish, but he's been gone for 3 days now,
off God knows where...

I got side tracked,
hearing loud footsteps coming my way.
" Here! "
Jack who stopped himself from running further, holding a paper and pen in his hand.
I take it and wrote an excuse note that was  "coming from my dad".
Writing that I couldn't practice cause my "asthma" was triggering.
This wasn't the first time I wrote one?
And lastly ended it with his signature.
Yes. Of course I practiced writing it...
" Bad ass... "
Jack who nodded his head, that dumb smile still on his face.
" You're the best, Y/n. "
He leaped hugging me after.
" You are too, Jack. "
A grin formed on my mouth as I hugged back.
Pulling away not for long,
" Okay, I'll give this to Coach and you wait for me outside of school. "
Jack spoke, taking the note from my hand.
" I'll be by the corridor. "
Smiling, pulling my bag up.
" Okay! "
He excitedly ran away, and I made my way around the field just incase
one of the teachers would spot me if I passed through the school.
