I had just gotten home from the lake with Daniel.
It was pretty fun, till we needed to leave...
Sometimes I kinda wished Daniel and I didn't live 3 doors away from each other.
You ask why?
Well, you'll see...
~At the Lake~
" Gee, it's been a long time since I've gone here. "
I smile looking far into the distance.
Embracing the beauty of the green fields, mountains, and painted blue sky.
The last time I was here would've been with Jack and his older brother Andy,
along with his friends.
We'd used to go out here a lot to swim
and camp out even.
Though Jack and I would have our own thing,
as they were wayyyy older than us.
Never knew why we stopped all of a sudden.
I was in a boat with Mr. Miyagi and Daniel.
Daniel rowed the boat with all his strength.
I wasn't sure why we were her exactly, but I knew it had something to do with Daniel's training.
I wasn't planning on swimming though, I was just accompanying Daniel.
" Okay. Here, stop. Throw anchor. "
Mr. Miyagi told Daniel who stopped rowing.
" Here. "
I hand him the big ol' rock that would keep us from moving.
" Thanks. "
Daniel plopping it down into the lake, I noticed Mr. Miyagi had his fishing rod with him.
" Ah, good. Stand bow. "
The old man smiled, reeling in his rod.
Watching Daniel look confused.
And this idiot bowed...
I chuckled as soon as Mr. Miyagi corrected him as he should get
on top of the end of the boat.
" Up! "
He pointed.
" What? Up front? "
" Make block. Left, right. Up, down. "
Daniel gets on top of the boat, balancing.
" Side, side. Breathe in, breathe out.
And no scare fish. "
Mr. Miyagi threw his rod back into the water.
" Ya hear that Daniel?
Don't scare the little fishies away. "
I almost start laughing, earning a,
" Oh shut up, Y/n/n. "
Daniel laughing while he continued to do his karate moves.
While I enjoyed the scenery, I overhear their conversation as I had put my headphones on,
listening on my walkman.
Talking about fights,
and Mr. Miyagi's experience.
But what Daniel said, made me take
my headphones off.
" So karate's fighting. You train to fight. "
" Dude, you really still got that mindset? "
Tilting my head to the side, questioning him.
" I- I mean, yeah? "
Noticing he looked pretty funny practicing his moves there.
Believe me! I was so tempted to knock him off.
" That what you think? "
It was as if Mr. Miyagi and I had the same question.
The boy I was facing stayed silent till he said,
" No. "
" Then why train? "
" So I won't have to fight. "
A smile crept up on Daniel's face while Mr. Miyagi laughed.
" Miyagi have hope for you. "
" When do I learn how to punch!? "
I forget how stubborn and impatient Daniel is...
" Learn how punch. "
I turn back to look at Mr. Miyagi, he gave a mischievous look.
" ...when learn how to keep dry! "
" No! "
Mr. Miyagi shook the boat, causing Daniel to fall right off.
" Oh my god! HAHHAHHAHA- "
I think I laughed so hard I was crying.
" That was a good one Mr. Miyagi. "
" Ohhh Daniel-san! "
You're all wet behind ear! "
The man laughing uncontrollably, I couldn't help but feel a little bad for him
knowing how cold the water is here.
" Are you crazy? "
Daniel wrapping his arms around himself, shivering.
" You're crazy! "
" Oh Daniel. "
I laugh, taking my towel out from my bag.
" That wasn't funny. I'm freezin'! "
Draping the warm cloth over his back,
while Mr. Miagi continued on laughing.
" It was a little funny? "
I add, making Daniel look at me.
" What? "
I say as Mr. Miyagi's laughter died down.
" Why don't you try swimming in there. "
The shivering boy cocks his head up, smiling.
" Oh no thanks. I know how cold the water is. "
I tell him, receiving an eye roll.
After that whole thing, Mr. Miyagi mentioned he was still going to go fishing for the remaining time, at least before the sun goes down.
" I'll uh just get my shirt from the truck, okay? "
Daniel tells me, his towel draped over his shoulders.
" Yeah, okay. "
I nodded smiling, that's when I heard,
" Y/n-san! "
Mr. Miyagi calling out for me from the deck that extended a couple meters into the lake.
He probably needs help with something.
" Yes, Mr. Miyagi, you okay? "
I ask the old man as I shielded the sun from my eyes.
" Miyagi okay. Just help-uh untie
rope from grass. "
He motions to the rope that was still tied up on the ground from the boat.
After untying it, I handed him the material.
" Thank you. "
" You're welcome Mr. Miyagi.
" Uh, Y/n-san, one more thing. "
I turn back,
" Make move on Daniel-san. Go on. "
He smiles happily before pushing the boat.
" What? Why- Why would I do that? "
I question him but he continued on pushing the boat farther away from land.
" You like boy, so why not make move? Eh? "
He tells me, rowing the boat, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.
" No- No way! He's- "
Before I could continue, he was already near the middle of the lake,
swinging his fishing rod. My words dying down,
" He's not going to say, yes... "
Why would he want me to do that?
I thought he would've known
that Daniel likes Allie...
I shake my head to even get the consideration of asking Daniel in my mind.
" Woah! Careful, Y/n/n. "
I almost stumble and hit Daniel from behind.
" Shit! I'm sorry I didn't know
you- you were there. "
Embarrassed he said it was okay and asked if we wanted to sit on the back of the truck.
Of course I said yes.
