OBLIGATORY TRIGGER WARNING FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT AND DESCRIPTION OF INJURIES

God I hope this is fucking coherent, I'm not with it I stfg as I've been ill AGAIN this last week

"What happened here, sargeant?" A news anchor asked, the camera crew trying to peek over the tape that closed off the accident area.

"Well, as you can see..." The voice faded as Oscar dropped his phone, having just spoken with a member of the fire brigade. He had innocently called to get an ETA on her arrival to their date night with the McLaren family, old and new drivers alike, when he got the fateful call. He stood in his room, alone and speechless as he attempted to prepare himself for the worst whilst praying for the best when a knock came. As if he was a robot, he made his way and swung it open, seeing Lando and Kimi stare at him with bright grins.

"Come on, we're going to be late! (Y/N), you always look gorgeous, come out so we can go!" Lando called, patting Oscar's shoulder and unintentionally shaking him from his shock. As the Brit looked around the other's room, he found no (Y/N) and Kimi suddenly approached the Australian, arms open as his dad intuition was set up. The Finn watched as Oscar suddenly burst into tears, not even hesitating to hold him as the tears streamed down his face. "Oh god." Lando said, mortified as he realised something serious must have happened. He watched for a moment before immediately calling Zak, begging him to come upstairs with little to no context to the conversation.

"What happened?" Kimi gently asked, running a hand up and down Oscar's back as his hands tightly gripped to the suit jacket the Finn wore. Lando quickly joined Kimi's pity party, not that he meant for it to be one, as Zak's footsteps thudded down the hallway from the lift, making it as the tears began to slow.

"There was an accident on the bridge and... And..." He stuttered, feeling Kimi withdraw as Zak took his place, immediately pulling his head to his shoulder. "The car was taken out by a drunk driver heading the wrong way down the carriage way. It was a head on collision and because of the angle the driver came at, the car next to our car sent her into the wall." He eventually got out, a collective gasp echoing in the room as they all processed this news.

"I think the most important question is if she's okay?" Zak asked, feeling Oscar try and gather himself as his head lifted, a hand running under his now red raw eyes. "What can we do? What do you need from us?"

"The fireman said that she's going to be cut out of the car and taken straight to the hospital where she'll need specialist treatment upon arrival." He mumbled, sitting in the chair that Lando kindly got him to sit in, instinctively knowing his legs would be like lead. "I want my mum. I know her parents are being informed because I gave the emergency services her phone pin, but I want my mum."

"Give me your phone, I will explain it to her whilst you process. Lando, go get a bottle of water. Kimi, please go and tell the board members there is a change of schedule due to an emergency. The event will go ahead but we will be last, Oscar became unexpectedly ill, okay?" Zak orchestrated, those who were instructed nodded and began doing as told, the American keeping his arm wrapped around his driver comfortingly as he wept.

"Hey Osc, how're you going?" His mum, the queen of twitter, Nicole answered, rather brightly before hearing Zak's voice and the explanation for the call. She loved her daughter in law and was scared for her and Oscar, but still asked Zak to put Oscar on the phone. "My little boy, are you okay?"

"Mummy," he whimpered, giving Nicole a peek into her son's psyche. "I want you and dad here with us, with her. I'll scramble a jet to the nearest airport, can you make it?"

"You don't even have to ask. I've asked your dad to be on standby and get a bag ready for us." His mum comforted, wanting to hold her babies near.

"Nicole, I've got a direct flight already for you at Melbourne and a taxi on the way. Just get here for Oscar and (Y/N)." Zak informed them, watching as Oscar's expression was thankful.
