Real friends are always the there, even if the lapse of time makes you question it. This has been put to the test in my life on the Fourth of July, when an old friend of mine that I haven't seen in three, nearly four, years called up to reacquaintance herself with me! It felt amazing to know that she hadn't forgotten about me, and that our mirth from our childhood of talking to one another was mutual. What's better yet, she sounded like the same person I'd known her to be, and she still had a lot in common with me. I realized something that brings me insurmountable comfort... things like friendship only end when the people involved choose to give up on it. It is a thing I cherish, and I would never surrender it for the life of me.
