Tell people what you want... be polite, but with no vagueness. If you assume that people will pick up on what you desire due to your typical nature or your common agenda, you will probably disappoint yourself. If I have to strain my mind to recollect what I had for lunch earlier in the afternoon, the chances are against someone, even a person who loves you endearingly, to remember what you want. You must inform them and make the act habitual if it is to be a new part of the schedule, not expect them to play the part automatically at first or even after it has been repeated. Humans have limited memories.
