BAKUGO'S POV

"Dad, I'm nervous," Daizen said as we waited outside the courtroom. Rachel was in there now, saying her peace. She requested to go first, which I only assumed happened because she didn't want to be lectured later on. She knows she's fucked and isn't going to win. She's hoping to hold onto Daizen a little longer, but that won't work, either. Richard and Hannah are here with us. They'll be waiting in a room until they're ready to be called.

"We'll get through this," I told him. "No matter what happens, everything will be fine." Rachel losing custody is the top priority. I don't want to lose my son, but if anything, I would rather Richard and Hannah get him than Rachel.

"We're ready for all of you," the officer said before he and my lawyer escorted us to the small room. It wasn't a full courtroom since we weren't doing a trial. We're in family court since I'm not suing Rachel for anything other than custody.

I walked in first, followed by Daizen, Kyo, and Kaoru. Deku was last in line, holding Evan in his arms. We were seated at a wooden table to the left. It was similar to a courtroom setup, but the judge wasn't as high up, and there wasn't a gallery, just the two tables and the judges in front of us.

"We have Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku Midoriya, Daizen Bakugo, Kyo Bakugo, Kaoru Bakugo, and Evangeline Marrow." He lowered his thin glasses and looked over the rim at us. "How are all of you doing today?"

"We're doing fine, Your Honor," I said. That was far from the truth, but I didn't need to tell him. He could probably see on our faces how distraught and tired we were.

"Well, let's get started, then. We'll start with the custody of Evangeline Marrow." The judge turned to the social worker, who was sitting at a small table between us and Rachel. My lawyer was standing behind her since our table was a little full. Rachel sat beside hers, but even the look on his face indicated the losing battle.

"Evangeline Marrow has been removed from the home of Rachel Marrow. Custody has been permanently stripped, and all rights revoked. Her biological father has also signed away his rights. She has been staying with Katsuki Bakugo as a foster child," she explained before walking up and handing him a few pieces of paper. "The social worker in their hometown also has glowing recommendations."

The judge turned to my lawyer. "The Bakugo family has enough money to care for Evan. They haven't missed a single appointment, and she is much healthier than when she had been taken from Ms. Marrow," he explained before walking to the judge and handing him a few pieces of paper. I already know that it's my financials, home blueprints, and other things like that, along with all of Deku's information.

He looked over the papers before turning to Rachel and her lawyer. They knew they couldn't do anything, so they stayed silent. The judge then turned his gaze back to us. "You do understand that adopting Evangeline Marrow will mean she is your full responsibility until she turns 18, correct?" he asked. "She will forever be your child."

"We understand that," Deku said. "We accept full responsibility for her until the day we die." Being a parent doesn't stop because they turn 18.

The judge motioned for the man next to him, who handed him a large envelope. "I award full custody of Evangeline Marrow to Katsuki Bakugo and Izuku Midoriya." He stamped something and signed it before handing it back to the man, who walked over and gave it to my lawyer.

"Adoption certificate," he mumbled. "We still have a lot of paperwork to fill out, but this starts the process."

"Next, Kyo Bakugo," the judge said before our lawyer stepped forward.

"Your Honor, at this time, Kyo and Kaoru have both said that whatever happens, they want to remain together," he said.

The judge nodded. "Kyo and Kaoru Bakugo," he said again. Kyo grabbed Deku's arm, squeezing for dear life. "Rebecca?" he questioned.
