*Back in time*

Phayu had left Thailand for what was supposed to be a simple mission which was retrieve the blueprints and free Chai from the German mafia. The plan was meticulously laid out, and his father had assured him that it would take only a week. Yet, here he was, months later, still in Germany, with no blueprints and no progress. He had scoured every lead, every dark alley, and every smoky bar, but came up empty-handed.

The constant frustration gnawed at him, and the promises he had made to Rain weighed heavily on his mind. The thought of Rain waiting for him, possibly him losing hope on their love, all that was a distraction he couldn't shake away from his head. His focus wavered, and he began making small, but potentially dangerous mistakes that can cost his life.

One evening, after another fruitless day, Phayu sat in his dimly lit room, staring blankly at the ceiling. His thoughts were consumed by the life he had left behind. His phone rang, breaking the silence. It was his father.

Phayu answered, his tone cold and clipped, "What is it?"

"How's it going?" Pakin's voice was unusually calm.

"Same shit. No leads. Our contacts didn't find anything. I think it's time to forget about those blueprints and focus on getting Chai out," Phayu replied, frustration seeping through his words.

There was a pause on the other end of the line before Pakin sighed heavily. "Listen son, there's something I need to tell you."

Phayu's frown deepened. "What now?"

"We found the blueprints a month ago," Pakin confessed.

Phayu sat up abruptly, his heart pounding. "What?"

"The plan was for you to distract them while our men handled the real mission aside. I didn't give you all these details to protect you, but now you must focus on getting Chai and coming back. The mission has been successful. We received the blueprints safe and sound this morning. We had some complications, which is why it took longer to tell you" Pakin explained.

Phayu couldn't believe what he was hearing. His father had used him as a pawn, putting his life at risk for a mission that had been accomplished month ago. His silence was filled with a mix of anger, betrayal, and hurt.

"I'll send our men to reinforce you for Chai's escape," Pakin continued, his tone still matter of fact.

Phayu's jaw tightened. "You used me. You put my life in danger without a second thought."

"It was necessary," Pakin replied. "We needed a diversion, you were my best hope."

Phayu felt a cold rage bubbling up inside him. "And what about Chai? You would have left him here to die."

"We did what was necessary for the mission first, the blueprints" Pakin repeated, a hint of impatience in his voice.

"I can't believe this," Phayu said, his voice low and trembling with suppressed emotion. "You betrayed me. You betrayed Chai."

"We'll get him out of there, Phayu. Just follow what I'll say" Pakin said, ignoring his son's words.

Phayu couldn't stand it anymore. Without another word, he ended the call and threw his phone across the room. It shattered against the wall, mirroring the way he felt inside. Betrayed by his own father, used as a decoy while others completed the real mission. And all the while, Rain was back in Thailand, waiting for him, believing in him, what the heck was happening?.

He sat back down, trying to steady his breathing. He had to get Chai out and go back to Thailand now. But first, he needed a plan. A new plan, one that didn't involve his father's manipulations. He had to do this on his own terms.
