Phayu sat on the edge of his bed in his spacious suite, the enormity of his task settling heavily on his shoulders. The detailed plan lay before him, meticulously crafted by his father and their team. Every aspect had been considered, his undercover identity was flawless, a perfectly constructed facade ready for him to assume. It was a point of no return, once he stepped into the mafia world there is no turning back.
As he thought about the preparation, Phayu remembered the conversations with his father. Pakin had been relentless in ensuring every detail was perfect. "Son, this isn't just about me. It's about the family, our future, our businesses, our reputation and influence in this world" Pakin had said, his eyes intense. Phayu had nodded, they hold so much power to just let it go.
The chaikamon's family never failed, we will always win.
Now, sitting alone, Phayu felt the weight of the world pressing down on him, at only eighteen years old he had to take such a responsibility and fight for his life. Who said rich kids have it easy? They were probably one of the unhappiest kids because money can't buy happiness, affection and love.
He stayed there and suddenly thought of Rain, his love, his heartbeat, his everything and the life they were building together. It pained him to be away from him he misses him like crazy, he craves his kisses, touches and soft skin, his laughs and giggles, rain was a ball of sunshine, to know that he was likely suffering without him hurt him the most.
But he pushed those thoughts aside, he can't risk the plan, he can't even call him. He has a phone only for business, his line is track by his father's headquarters and impossible to make a normal call, he needs to stay low and act fast.
Just when he was lost in thought, his phone rang. A call he was waiting for two days, now he can get in the game. There was a job to do, and he had to be strong for both of them, he'll get back to rain.

Two weeks had passed, and Rain was unraveling. Phayu had promised he would be back in a week, but he wasn't. Rain felt like he was drowning in uncertainty and sorrow. Each day at school felt like an eternity, and his friends had no answers for him if they had heard of phayu. He dared not go to Phayu's house, fearing it would cause trouble or reveal more secrets he wasn't ready to face.
Rain's grades were slipping for the last two test risking his scholarship and his spot in his dream university. The joy he once found in life had dimmed, he cried himself to sleep each night, clutching memories of Phayu, their time together and the promises made. He felt abandoned, lost without the only person who made him feel complete.
After school, Rain went straight to his room, as he did every day. He lay under his blanket, crying in the dark not even opening his curtains. His mom, increasingly worried about his health, followed him with a plate of fresh juice and a sandwich. She knocked softly before entering, finding Rain in his usual state.
"My love, you have to eat something"
she said gently, placing the plate beside him. She sat next to him, stroking his hair, her heart breaking at the sight of her son in such pain.
Rain remained silent, tears soaking his pillow. She continued, "I'm sure Phayu will come back. Maybe something happened that delayed him. Trust him Rain. I know how much he loves you."
Rain finally spoke, his voice muffled by the blanket. "He lied to me Mom. He said he'd be back in a week, but it's been two. What if it's three, four, or five then forever? He just left me. How am I supposed to go on like this?"
His mother sighed, trying to comfort him. "I understand my love. Maybe something unexpected came up. Trust him okay. He'll come back to you."
Rain slowly sat up, looking at her with tear-filled eyes. "Do you really think he'll come back to me?" Thinking of how his father just one day had left them without a word but his mom stayed strong for him now he has to be stronger too. Is this some sort of karma or what? First his dad now his lover.
