FORBIDDEN LOVE [PhayuRain]

19- Back for good

Phayu entered their safe house hand in hand with Rain by his side. Everyone looked at them as they passed, parting to give them way with whispers wondering what's going on.

"All of you, follow me," Phayu said firmly, leading the way to their meeting room.

It was a very large room with a grand table and numerous chairs, where they usually gathered for meetings or planning missions, attacks or whatever things they have to do. Phayu took the head of the table with Rain sitting beside him. Four of Pakin's partners from US, Japan, Taiwan and Mexico had arrived, along with some of their trusted men. They all sat, eyes fixed on Phayu, the probable next heir to Pakin's throne.

Phayu looked around, feeling a bit nervous for the very first time. Everything was up to him, he had to decide whether to help his father or let him face his fate in prison for the rest of his life. He knows his father's partners will always try to get him out of there even without his help. The choice had to be made today and a decision has to be taken now. He glanced at Rain, who gave him a small nod, squeezing his knee under the table for support.

Phayu had it in his blood, whether he liked it or not. That's why it was easy for him to get into this world compared to his brother Saifa, who just managed their clean businesses like companies and hotels etc... Phayu's cold blood and temper made it easy for him, and when he lost his memory, it became worse because of how cruel he had become.

He had risen to command respect from their partners by managing all missions with success, everyone looked up to him for major decision. But right now, since yesterday, he had woken up fully himself with all his memories back.

The previous night, Phayu had been sleeping on Rain's chest peacefully, but his mind was working as fast as a computer system, as if he were downloading his life in one go. Everything was becoming clear, and he could now see and remember it all, his whole life was playing like a movie in his head.

While sleeping, he started to shake, sweat dripping from his forehead. Rain noticed and was scared for him, he was worried about his health. Despite all his attempts to wake Phayu, he was deep into his sleep or dream or whatever was happening in his head, his whole body was tense.

"Phayuuu" Rain shook him harder, and after some time, Phayu opened his eyes.

"What's wrong, Phayu? Are you okay?" Rain asked, very worried.

Phayu looked up at him, his eyes full of pain. "I remember everything," he said.

Rain's eyes widened. "What? Really?"

Phayu nodded. "I remember everything Rain" he repeated, clinging to Rain's waist.

"How? I mean, just like that?" Rain asked curious of how that can happen.

"I remember the doctor once said I had to face the situation that reminded me why I blocked my memory to avoid being hurt again. My biggest fear was losing you and never seeing you again, so when I woke up, I think my brain protected me. Now, I'm having the same fear, it just unlocked everything," Phayu explained.

"I'm not leaving you Phayu" Rain reassured him again.

"I know. I want you to be by my side, fight with me. I can't fight alone please" Phayu said.

"Of course, I'll stay by your side. I told you we would face everything together. Our love is possible, and we will be happy" Rain said softly.

Back in the meeting room, Phayu took a deep breath, looking at the faces around the table. He knew what he had to do.

"I've made my decision," Phayu began, his voice steady. "I will not let my father's empire crumble, but I will not continue his legacy of crime. We will shift our operations, clean them up. We have enough legitimate businesses to make this transition."
