Ominis took a deep breath and admitted to Sebastian that he'd falling madly in love with her. He felt a rare heat spread across the tops of his cheekbones as he heard his voice change when he spoke about her.

And then he described the shit show which was the last 48 hours. His tone was fueled with spite, telling him that their previous divination teacher sold him out to the authorities when she realized that Stella was from another time.

"I hated her class." Sebastian groaned, sounding like he was rubbing a hand over his face, "She always saw it coming when I cheated."

"How the fuck do you cheat trying to read tea leaves?"

"I always rearranged them to look like a cock because I was tired of seeing Grims."

Ominis blinked. "You are such a fool."

Sebastian laughed, "I am." He agreed easily, "But I'm also a fool that can help you go to the future and reunite with your princess."

What? He was joking. He had to be kidding. "Are you trying to get my hopes up so you can crush them? Because that's cruel even for you, old friend."

Ominis could hear a bit of rustling before Sebastian spoke, "I've been hiding it for years, ever since that night in the Feldcroft Catacombs. Nora had discovered how to help Anne with Ancient Magic, but she still wasn't precise enough to ensure it could be done without hurting her further. We were always going on dangerous missions, so Nora bought a small vial made of goblin metal to store a piece of her ancient magic. She gave it to me in the event that if something happened to her, I could still save Anne. But now I have someone else to save. If you can find a way out of Azkaban, then it's yours."

Find a way to escape a prison specifically designed for dangerous criminals? With Dementors flying all around the place? Ominis ran a hand through his hair.

Eden. Where are you?

Chapter 78: The Pursuit of Freedom

OMINIS' POV

"If you have books, then it explains the journals." Ominis remarked in a slightly defeated tone as he sat down on the dirty stoned bed.

Three hours had passed and his legs were killing him from standing up for so long. His Oxford shoes were scuffed and uncomfortable. He had the idea of going into the future to get her and bring her back. That surely wasn't the only time turner, right? They could find another one after he gave her the memories he'd stolen back.

Maybe after about three hundred times of calling him an insufferable prat, she'd forgive him. They both knew it was necessary. The Unspeakables would have obliviated her whereas he only made her forget by stealing the memories into his mind.

Plus, he had to make sure he went to the correct date since it'd never been discussed at length before. All he knew was the year which she'd arbitrarily mentioned to him.

"Are you even listening?"

Ominis blinked, realizing he'd gotten caught up thinking about her again. "Pardon?"

Sebastian laughed quietly. The sound foreign when there were screams echoing all around them, "You are smitten. I wish I could meet her."

"You will." The partially blind wizard objected, "When I bring her back, I'll work to lift your sentence so you're free. And then you'll meet her. You can live with us for however long it takes to get you back on your feet."
