Draco's voice was quiet, but loud enough for them to hear to give the next cue, "Go downstairs, I'll bring your mother down shortly. And if you hear screaming, don't worry. I'm just murdering your pathetic excuses for a wizard Uncles."

Both uncles looked particularly annoyed right now, not that they could see from the hallway. "I'll be right down. Mum needed me to grab her shawl from your room."

Ominis rolled his eyes as the footsteps disappeared and Draco walked into the study, quietly murmuring, "What an excuse."

"My body is a bit frail, it was a decent excuse." Hermione argued just as quietly, shooting her husband an indignant look.

They bickered back and forth until there was a thump, signaling that Stella had knocked out her brother to stop him from interfering with her departure.

A small smile fell on his lips, ignoring the stares of Draco and Hermione Malfoy.

See you soon, Princess.

Chapter 81: Orpheus and Eurydice Reunite

OMINIS' POV

What was more awkward than daydreaming about the love of your life with her family and friends surrounding you? He was at this nonsensical party for his soon to be mother in law. He'd been by her side most of the day with Draco eyeing him wearily.

"How did the two of you meet?" Hermione asked, finally having a break from greeting people.

Ominis' lips twitched. "Your daughter decided to run into Jack the Ripper in Whitechapel on her first night. She fought him and escaped. I found her passed out by the Westminster bridge."

"And you took care of her?"

"Took?" He repeated, leaning back in the sofa seat. "Agreeing to that implies that i've stopped." Now, he glanced sideways at her, "She's on her period and she'll show up in pain. Does she have everything here to take care of herself or do I need to head to the nearest market?"

Hermione's eyes widened and a soft smile grew on her lips. Ominis could see the approval practically pooling in her eyes, but he didn't care. He wasn't sure how she'd show up-she might even appear unconscious.

"Yes, she has her room here." The witch said in a pleased tone, "Will you be staying here as well?"

Was that an invitation? "No."

"No?" Her eyebrows scrunched, "Where do you intend to stay?"

"That's for Stella to decide." Ominis said simply, resisting the urge to sigh inwardly as Scorpius walked over and took a seat beside his mother and across from him.

He'd been trying to interrogate him all day. Likely an errand boy from his father.

"What did you do in the 19th century?"

"That's a vague question." Ominis pointed out wryly. He did a lot of things. Solved crimes. Fucked his sister. Many times. He bit back a wicked smile, occluding instead. "I was an Auror."

Scorpius frowned, "The records don't show that. There's not even a record of you dying or being classified as missing. It's like one day you left and no one noticed."
