The moon hung low in the sky, casting an ethereal glow over the ancient ruins. Jimin teasingly said to Taehyung, "Oh look, Commander Jungkook came back from the mission." Taehyung's heart skipped a beat as he turned to face the source of the voice. His eyes widened in awe at the sight before him. Jungkook, the object of his secret affection, had returned, looking more beautiful than ever. But as their eyes met, Taehyung's smile faded. There was something amiss. Something wrong with Jungkook's expression.

His mother looked at Taehyung and said "what about Jungkook?" Taehyung replied,"nothing" his voice barely audible. He couldn't let her know. Not yet. Not until he was ready. But then he noticed it: a tiny scratch on Jungkook's face. It was nothing major, but it was there. His heart ached with worry.

Taehyung couldn't stay any longer. He had to help Jungkook. Without a second thought, he excused himself from the gathering and hurried over to where Jungkook was standing. He took Jungkook's hand in his own, his heart pounding in his chest. He was about to speak, to tell Jungkook that everything would be alright, when he felt a sudden rush of adrenaline course through his veins. Jungkook was about to hit him, but then he seemed to recognize Taehyung's touch, and relaxed his grip.

"How did you hurt yourself, Jungkook?" Taehyung asked, his voice gentle yet firm, as he met Jungkook's gaze. There was a mix of concern and love in his eyes, and he couldn't help but wonder if Jungkook could see it too.

"It's nothing, my King," Jungkook mumbled, trying to pull his hand away. But Taehyung wouldn't let go. He could feel the warmth of Jungkook's skin against his own, and he didn't want to let this moment slip away.

Ignoring Jungkook's protests, Taehyung shushed him and gently led him to his private chamber. Jungkook followed without another word, his head bowed low in defeat. As they entered the dimly lit room, Taehyung guided Jungkook to sit on the bed. He rummaged through a drawer, his hand finally closing around a small bottle of healing ointment. It was a rare and precious substance, one that could mend even the deepest of wounds.

Taehyung unscrewed the cap and dipped his finger into the cool gel. He approached Jungkook, his eyes never leaving the scratch that marred the perfection of his face. Taehyung's eyes searched Jungkook's, seeking permission. Jungkook nodded slightly, and Jungkook leaned in, allowing him to apply the ointment. The touch was feather-light, yet it sent a jolt of electricity through Taehyung's body.

Taehyung's hand was steady as he traced the line of the scratch with the ointment. Jungkook winced slightly, but otherwise remained still. The silence in the room was palpable, filled only with the sound of their soft breathing. Taehyung's eyes searched Jungkook's, looking for any signs of pain or discomfort. Jungkook met his gaze, and for a moment, it was as if the world had stopped spinning.

Finally, the task was done. Taehyung took a step back, examining his handiwork. The scratch was already fading, the magic of the ointment working its way into Jungkook's skin. Jungkook reached up and touched his face, feeling the coolness left behind by the gel. He looked up at Taehyung, his eyes filled with something unspoken.

"Thank you," Jungkook murmured, his voice thick with unshed emotions. Taehyung felt his heart swell with happiness at those two simple words. He had never felt more alive than he did in this moment, taking care of the person he cared for most in the world.

But then Jungkook spoke again, his voice barely a whisper. "You don't need to worry. I've gotten worse." Taehyung's eyes widened in shock, and he could feel his heart drop to the pit of his stomach. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice shaking slightly.

Jungkook looked away, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "The missions are getting more dangerous. The enemy... they're not human anymore. when you fight with them. You are fighting with literal monsters" He took a deep breath. "And every time I come back, it will keep getting worse."

Taehyung felt a fierce anger bubble up inside of him. "No more," he said firmly, his grip on Jungkook's hand tightening. "You can't keep doing this to yourself." Jungkook looked at him, a sad smile playing on his lips. "What will you do?" he challenged, his gaze searching Taehyung's.

Without hesitation, Taehyung replied, "I will bury that person alive who will hurt you, Jungkook." The words hung in the air, heavy with promise and determination. Jungkook's smile grew wider, a hint of surprise in his eyes. He knew Taehyung wasn't one for empty threats.

For a moment, they just sat there, holding hands and sharing the weight of their unspoken fears and feelings. Then, Jungkook leaned in, and Taehyung could feel his breath on his cheek. "I believe you," he said, his voice low and earnest.

Taehyung leaned into Jungkook's touch, closing his eyes as Jungkook's hand cupped his cheek. It was a tender gesture, one that spoke volumes about the trust that had grown between them. "I will always protect you," Taehyung whispered, his heart racing with a mix of fear and love.

Jungkook nodded, his eyes closing briefly. "I know but I am the commander I should protect you," he said, his voice filled with a quiet strength that Taehyung hadn't heard before. It was a promise that Taehyung knew he would keep, no matter the cost.

Taehyung leaned in closer, his eyes searching Jungkook's. "But who will protect you?" he asked, his voice filled with a hint of desperation. Jungkook's gaze softened, and he took Taehyung's hand in his own. "You will," he murmured, a smile playing on his lips.

Taehyung felt his resolve solidify. "I will," he said, his voice firm. "I won't let anyone hurt you again." Jungkook's smile grew, and he leaned in, his forehead touching Taehyung's. The connection between them was palpable, a silent promise passing between them.

They just met and are making these life long promises. They dont even know each other properly but something was just connecting them.
