chapter 8

The next day me and Sage packed our bags and left for Los Angeles. Hours later we land and look around the city. We rent a car and go for a drive.

" It's so pretty here. I could live here."

I say as I grab his hand. He looks at me and smiles.

" I thought we could go explore the city."

He said with a smile.

We drive around the city and we finally make it to our hotel room. We walk into the hotel room and walk around.

"This is so pretty."

"Not as pretty as you."

Sage walks to me and puts his arms around my waist.

"I could do this all day with you."

I smile at him. I kiss his cheek and run to the bathroom, He chases after me.

" You caught me, baby. "

I say laughing. He picks me up and spins me around.

" You were easy to catch amore."

He said as he looked into my eyes. I look away from him. He puts his hand under my chin lifting my eyes to his. Our eyes meet ,and it was like an instant connection.

" Well that's different."

I said, smiling at him. He kisses my cheek. we get ready to go exploring the city. I get dressed then walk to Sage.

" your beautiful baby."

He said with a smile. I smile at him and look away.

" Don't be shy baby."

I look at him. He puts his arms around my waist so our eyes meet.

"You hate this don't you?"

" I can't see you with another guy Mariah. You're mine always will be. I could do things to you and not stop because you are so addicting."

He says with his lips about an inch away from my neck. My heart starts racing I take a deep breath.

" You know if you kissed me I wouldn't stop you."

I whispered in his ear. He smiles at me.

"You wouldn't stop me?"

"Why would I? We have a crazy bond even though we aren't together."

Sage takes a deep breath.

"What are you doing to me amore? I'm normally not like this, but with you I can't help it."

I laugh and kiss his cheek.

"Oh I'm sorry am I changing the bad boy in you."

I start to breathe heavily. My heart started racing. With his lips about an inch from mine we kissed. I was rendered helpless and defenseless. It's like I craved him because he is so addictive.

" Come on baby, let's go find your brother and your mom."

I take a deep breath and put clothes on. He watches me change and smiles. After thirty minutes we leave the hotel and go for a drive.

Hours later we are in downtown LA. Sage parks the car and we walk around for awhile.

" The city is so big." I said as I looked around.

Sage looks at me and smiles. I look at him and laugh.

" What is it ?" I ask him

" You're just like a little kid Mari."

'So what if I am."

I say laughing. He smiles at me and kisses my cheek. After we looked in the city for hours we still have not found them. We went back to the hotel for the night.

" What if we don't find them sage...."

I said to him in tears.

" Baby don't cry please we will find them."

He says as he's hugging me.

" te quiero feliz siempre"

He whispers in my ear. I smile at him. All of a sudden my phone starts to ring. I answer it.

" Hello?"

I hear a familiar voice.

" Mariah?"

He asks in a shaky voice.

" Who is this?"

I asked.

" You don't know my voice?"

He said laughing.

" No should I"

I said thinking.

"Mariah Noel McCoy."

Hearing that last name my jaw drops and so does my phone. Sage looks at me. I just stand there. Sage picks up my phone and says this.

" I don't know who you are but you clearly affected her. You come near her, I'll kill you."

He ends the call. He looks at me.

"Who was that Mariah?"

He asked me as he hugged me.

" That was Jett." I said as I took a deep breath.

He looks at me.

" Who is Jett baby?"

He asked as he grabbed my hand.

" He's a part of my past that I don't want to remember."

I said as I started to tear up. He walked to me and held me close.

" I'm sorry amore."

He said as he kissed my cheek. I explained to him who Jett was to me and the more I told him the madder he got.

" You did not need him."

"I have you now."

" How did he know your real last name?"

" He used to be a bodyguard like me for someone that was in the mafia and my biological mom, dad and brother were shot and killed when I was 10. I went in and out of care with my family until I was 15. Then one day I was walking down the street and that's when I met Luke Seth and Elina. They adopted me because I was not 18 yet. They have been my family every since."

I said as I tried to hold back the tears. Sage kisses my head.

" Baby look at me."

I look in his eyes.

"You have no idea how strong you are. Yes you are a handful but you are that way because look at what you just told me. That does not make me love you any less."

He said with a smile.

" What about your wife and your little girl?"

" I left her and I still see my girl."

My jaw drops.

" Sage!"

" I know what I want and it wasn't her."

He says as he hugs me.
