Heartstrings in Play

Chapter 12

Luke has flashes of his life of him and me when we were little he flashes mom and dad he sees flashes of Emma and the kids. I hate waiting. I need to know if he was okay. Sage sits beside me. I grab his hand. This was the first time in a while I actually felt safe. Doctor walks out to me and Sage in the waiting room doctor says

"We have him stable but he needs a blood transfusion now can you come with me ?"

I look at Sage. Sage says,

" Go on love. It's okay, I'm not leaving."

Sage kisses my cheek. I smile at Sage then go with the doctor. The doctor takes me back to the lab to do the transfusion. After the transfusion the doctor unhooks the needle and runs the blood to the operation room. Thirty minutes later I walk out to Sage while the iv is hooked up to Luke to get blood. The doctors monitor Luke he suddenly starts responding to the transfusion After a few hours the doctor comes to me and Sage the doctor says

" The transfusion worked successfully. He is going to make a full recovery. He has to stay in the hospital for a few days. "

I thank the doctor. I hug the doctor and the doctor hugs me. We left the hospital for a few hours. Sage looks around.

" Hey baby there's a restaurant right down the street. Are you hungry?"

I nod my head yes Sage and I walk towards the restaurant. Sage and I walk into the restaurant. The waiter shows us to a table. Sage pulls my chair out. I sit down and thank Sage as he pushes the chair in. Sage sits down Sage says

"Can I ask you something?"

I look at Sage.

" Sure sweetie what is it?"

Sage takes a deep breath. Sage says.

" I love you. I can't see myself without you. I don't want to be with anyone else. I know I said I couldn't be with you. I can't stop thinking about you. Will you be mine forever?"

I drop my mouth I never thought he would ask me that I wanted to jump and dance around I scream

"yes yes yes I will be yours!"

I lean over the table and I kiss Sage's lips. He returns the kiss as everyone claps. We order food from the menu. The waiter walks to the kitchen after he takes our orders. Sage and I talk after twenty minutes then the waiter brings our food to the table. He places the plates on the table and we thank the waiter as he pours us some wine. After thirty minutes Sage pays for the food after we have eaten. Sage and I hop up. Sage takes my hand. We walk outside and we walk towards the hospital.

We walk into the hospital. We walk to the front desk I ask information about Luke. The nurse showed us Luke's room. I took a deep breath before we both walked in the room. Sage sits in the chair beside the bed. I walk to luke inside the room Emma and the kids were there. Emma hugs me I return the hug. Sage asks,

" How did this happen Luke?"

Luke says

"Jett kidnapped us he stabbed us he bashed us severely "

Emma gasps Sage says

"Glad that is over "

Emma and Luke giggles I look at Sage Sage says

"What ?"

Sage giggles Luke says

"Thanks sis for saving me"

"Always bubba " I say

Sage and I stayed with luke for a few hours I kiss my brother on the cheek we say goodbye, Sage and I walk out of the room to my mother's room.

I walk into the room where my mother was Sage stands near the doorway I look at my mother she was battered and bruised I think to myself could I have prevented all of this is this my fault? If only I would have stayed with Jett my family wouldn't have been in danger I walk to my mother's bedside I take her hand. I speak to my mother for a few hours Sage smiles and speaks to mom I kiss my mother's cheek we both say goodbye to Mom Sage and I walk out of the room we walk to the carpark. Sage opens the car door for me I climb into the car I thank him Sage winks at me he closes the door walks to the other side Sage climbs into the car.

After putting our seat belts on Sage starts the car Sage starts driving to my apartment building after twenty minutes of driving Sage slows down near the building we see people gathered around suddenly the building explodes people take cover Sage covers me from the explosion Sage looks up Sage says

"Oh crap! "
