Scarven landed in a tree with spiky branches. Surprisingly, he didn't have any injuries that were horrible. Maybe a few scrapes and things. He looked around for Reylyn as his eyes adjusted to the light of the sun.

He saw her leaning against the tree with a happy grin on her face. That grin reminded him of when they were just babies, practically. She looked up at the sky again, and her grin faltered into a sad grin.

Scarvern watched her for a few more minutes before climbing off of the tree to stand in front of her with a grim smile.

"Oh," Reylyn muttered when his shadow covered her view of the sky. "I kind of expected you to land a little farther away," She began to stand up, and he backed up into a tree.

She flicked her finger angrily and glared. "Stop being so clumsy, or I will make you stop,"

Scarvern sighed at her sudden snappy mood. He had thought maybe... make up with her.

"Well, sorry this forest has trees," he replied snarkily. He looked through the path until he saw trees for about a few more miles, until he saw light. "Hey look," He tapped Reylyn's shoulder. She grit her teeth for a few seconds, but the flicker of the light caught her eye.

Her angry expression changed into one of surprise. She turned to him and grinned madly. "The ring of fire,"

"The what?" he yelled. "How is that safe to go to?"

"I have a plan," she subconsciously grabbed his arm and dragged him in the direction of the light. Her touch was warm. Reylyn's eyes widened when she realized she had grabbed his arm. She let go of it reluctantly.

"It's fine. Just not necessarily, you know. Thinking this whole plan you have is safe?" he raised his eyebrow at her.

"Listen to me," she glared at him and gripped his arm, but this time tight. "Or, you'll have to be lead by me,"

"I don't do good with flames," he admitted. "But, I guess since your all blaze and burn, go ahead and go along with your plan,"

She let go of his arm. "Good, good. Didn't really want to have to hold your arm all the way there,"

"Me too," He nodded reluctantly and followed as her walk ended up with a run. "You know you can slow down!"

"Do flames slow down?"

"No!"

"Exactly! You pick up your pace!"

"Ughhhh," he muttered underneath his breath, but he ran faster towards her. "This is gonna be great,"

He finally saw Reylyn's silhouette in the light. Scarvern let out a sigh of relief when he realized that she had slowed down to a jog. She had a big grin plastered across her face, but she came to a sudden stop.

He caught up with her, and he noticed what made her stop. There were animal paws leading to the ring of fire. Scarvern paused as he saw her thinking face.

Reylyn squatted down to examine the paws. Her face changed into a surprised look.

"What?" he asked her as she stood up.

"The king of the beasts," her palm lit up a tiny flame. "Lions,"

"Lions? What do they have to do with any of this?" he asked harshly.

She glared. "There are the animals that represent fire," she blew out the flame on her palm and turned to him. "The lions rarely come near the ring of fire. And when they do, they guard it with their lives,"

"That's just fun, now we have to worry about a full pack of lions to fight!" he stated sarcastically.

Reylyn glared at him. "Can you stop with the snarky comments, please?"

"No, I know you like them, burn,"

She scowled. "I like them about as much as I like water,"

He chuckled. She hated water.

A pack of lions charged at them out of nowhere.
