Cazzlyn landed on the forest floor with a thud, her back felt like it had been shattered. She heard someone let out a loud groan. She turned to see Rheton's face all bruised and bloody, not like how it was before.
Reylyn had somehow landed in a pit of leaves, and she was limping over to them with her gladius in her hand weakly.
"Normally I can control them," Cazzlyn let out a loud groan as she sat up. "Freaking wind spirits!"
Rheton tapped the ground weakly and vines wrapped around his bloody body. His wounds quickly healed.
"Try that with your fire," he told Reylyn as he stood up. "I would suggest it to you, but it looks like your tornado spell didn't turn out well," He smiled sweetly at her.
Cazzlyn patted her back, hoping her bow was still there. It was.
Reylyn's palm was a blaze of fire, and she gently put it on her leg that she was limping on. It instantly healed.
Cazzlyn made a slight breeze with the thought in her mind, and her back no longer hurt. She stood up with a dry expression. She looked at the two.
"Well, what's the plan?" Rheton asked.
Reylyn looked like she had a plan, she had a hard expression on her face as she wrote something down on a piece of paper. Cazzlyn and Rheton exchanged curious looks.
"Do you have a plan, Rey?" he asked her from his tree.
She shrugged. "Possibly a plan, don't know if it's effective enough," she squinted her eyes at the shadowed part of the forest.
Cazzlyn walked over to her gingerly and grabbed her bow from her back.
There was a loud screeching sound from the river, and they all three looked at it at the same time.
The blond boy was cursing and his hair was all messy, covered in mud. "That works a lot better!" He kicked a stick angrily, and Cazzlyn had to dodge it to not get hit with it.
"I guess I should properly introduce myself," the boy ran his hands through his already messy hair. "Scarvern Lawson, from Valedin,"
Reylyn scowled quietly behind her. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever," she dug her gladius into the dirt, her face was still full of fury.
Scarvern glared at Reylyn too. "Still as cocky as I remembered you being," he frowned. "I kind of miss her a little bit,"
"I know," Reylyn fixed her glare on him and smirked. "She was easier to kill,"
He smirked back.
Rheton interrupted their bickering. "You still have that plan of yours?" he looked over at Cazzlyn, and he reached out his arm. "Just incase if you're still injured,"
She felt a slight blush come over her face. She cursed at herself. A leaf landed in front of her, and it had writing on it, addressed to her. The ink was white like snow.
The leaf read, "Follow the breeze," there was a sentence with tiny writing on it. "You'll need Earth's utility for this one,"
She sighed. "I need you for something," she nudged Rheton's ribs slightly. She gave him the leaf.
He sighed as well, but it wasn't annoying like hers was.
A burnt piece of wood almost fell on top of them, but it maneuvered its way over to Scarvern. He picked it up, and shrieked.
"Of course it is, dumby." Reylyn scoffed. "Let me touch it," She attempted to touch it, but it burnt her hand. "Cool it down with your powers or something!"
Scarvern scoffed. "It probably won't work," he did it anyway. He sprinkled some water out of his palms and put it on the wall. It started to steam. He picked it up in his palm
His expression turned sickly. "Follow the stream," Both Reylyn and Scarvern looked at the river. "You will need Fire's wrath for this one,"
Rheton smirked. "Looks like you two will have to get along,"
Reylyn rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, whatever." She fixed her hair and glared at Scarvern.
Rheton and Cazzlyn exchanged nervous glances. Her arm was still intertwined with his.
"This is going very well," Cazzlyn shook her head. "This is not gonna go well if they have to go on a quest together,"
Rheton chuckled and nodded his head. "Guess we better get going,"
Cazzlyn looked up at the sky, and it was almost sunrise already. They haven't even slept. But she felt ready to take on the world.
"Wait... How long were we out for?" Reylyn must have noticed the sunrise too, because she was fidgeting with her fingers.
Scarvern bit his lip anxiously. "Six hours. When I found you guys, you were practically dead," He laughed.
"Six hours?" Reylyn shouted at him. "Why didn't you do anything about it?"m
"Well, number one, what if your powers activated in your sleep and you burned the forest down with me in it? Two, what if you were to snap my neck for interrupting your slumber?"
"She would break someone's neck if they interrupted her sleep," Rheton agreed, his voice low.
Reylyn rolled her eyes. "Thanks for the compliments. I guess we do have to get going, but I'm going by myself on our quest. Or it'll fail miserably," She wagged a finger in Scarvern's direction.
"Eh, no need," Scarvern smirked and made a huge wave, just big enough for him and Reylyn to fit in.
Reylyn tried to fight the wave again, but nothing happened.
"I don't think that's a good idea after Cazzlyn's tornado!" Rheton began, but it was too late. The wave was already dissipating into the river.
