When the waves
Are flooding the shore and I can't
Find my way home anymore
That's when I, I
I look at you
When I look at you, I see forgiveness
I see the truth
You love me for who I am
Like the stars hold the moon
Right there where they belong
And I know I'm not alone
Miley Cyrus ~ When I Look At You
One week after Zach returns home, the police arrests the man who drove drunk and caused the car accident. When we get the news, I feel a sense of relief and feel like we can move past this and move on.I sit by the kitchen counter, sipping on my coffee when the doorbell rings. I walk over and open it.
"Hey, Shane," I smile.
"Kaylee, my best girl," Shane grins, moving forward to hug me before walking inside. I follow him to the kitchen and watch as he grabs a cup and pours himself some coffee.
I sit back down when I hear footsteps behind me and see Zach rounding the corner. He's only in a pair of pyjama bottoms, his muscular chest on full display.
Since the accident, I had slept in Zach's room. Last week when I had come home from classes, he had moved all my clothes into his closet and declared that we would be sharing room from now on. I had not protested.
He walks over to me, grabs my chin softly and places a kiss on my lips. Deepening it before pulling away, leaving me wanting more.
"You left our bed too early," he murmurs, his voice husky and low.
"I couldn't sleep," I admit softly.
"Who said anything about sleeping," he responds before I hear a loud cough from Shane. I watch as Zach rolls his eyes before looking at his friend who is leaning on the counter, a big grin on his face.
"Why are you here, Shane?" Zach grunts.
Shane straightens up, still grinning mischievously. "Just checking on my boy here."
Zach's hand gently trails down my arm, sending shivers down my spine.
Zach scoffs, though a hint of amusement tugs at his lips. "Yeah, well, we were having a moment until you ruined it."
