Sunoo felt someone clinging to his side, squeezing him tightly as if the person was afraid he would disappear any second. Unfortunately, this body that was attached to him radiated an unbearable heat, and Sunoo needed to breathe. He tried to push the arms away that were encircling him, but apart from a groan from the other person, nothing happened. Sunoo huffed in annoyance and opened his eyes, blinking against the brightness in the room.
He heard a rustle somewhere in the room and slowly realized that he wasn't in his own bed.
Then he remembered what had happened the day before and that he had stayed at Niki's room last night. That was also the person who was clinging to him now.
Sunoo groaned and pushed his childhood friend aside. He loved him dearly, but it was annoying how warm his body was.
The rustle was heard again and Sunoo froze. What was this? Was there a mouse in the room?
"Good morning, sleepy head."
Sunoo's head whipped around until he spotted the source of the voice: Jake, Niki's roommate. He was a beta and studied law in his second year, and although Sunoo had practically barged into their dorm room last night, he had been anything but kind to him. He was currently standing at his desk, packing things into his school bag.
Sunoo gave him as much of a smile as he could muster in his sleepy state.
"Good morning, Jake! What time is it?"
"7:30. When does your first class start?"
"At 10. Good, I have enough time until then to look for an apartment off campus!"
"I wish you all the luck! I've heard it's almost impossible to find something affordable close by."
Sunoo's smile fell a little. He knew that, but he still wanted to believe that he could find something.
Negative thoughts never made you achieve anything. It was a positive mindset that opened doors, even in the darkest of places.
"I know," he answered Jake, "but I will do my best and I will find a place for sure!"
Jake gave him an encouraging smile and Sunoo immediately felt better.
"I have to go now," the law student zipped his bag, "I guess I'll see you guys tonight?"
"I'm sorry to bother you!"
Sunoo bowed his head apologetically.
Jake huffed a laugh.
"Nooo, it's really okay, Sunoo! Stay as long as you need to. I see you tonight!"
With that Jake threw his bag over his shoulder and left the room, closing the door quietly as if not to wake Niki.
He seemed to be a real sweetheart, Sunoo was genuinely happy for the younger to have met such a nice roommate.
As if he had heard his thoughts, the beta stirred awake next to him.
"Sunoo-hyung, why are you up? It's ass o'clock!"
The younger's whine made Sunoo chuckle. Niki had never been a morning person.
He patted his head.
"Remember, I need to find a place to stay."
Suddenly Niki sat up, wide awake as his gaze darkened a little.
"Right, I forgot that this ass had kicked you out. If he wasn't an alpha, I would-"
Sunoo shook his head.
