To The Dazzling You

Chapter 20

Sunoo woke up early the next morning. He checked his phone to see that it was only 5AM and he had several missed calls and texts from Jungwon and Niki.

But from Sunghoon - still nothing.

The hurt came crashing down on him again as he realized that Sunghoon must have really tattled on him. He slumped back on the bed, covered himself with his blanket and let the tears spill out again.

At some point there were no more tears coming out of his eyes. He knew his eyes were swollen, the skin straining uncomfortably around them.

He checked the time - it was now 8AM.

Still no message from Sunghoon.

He closed his eyes again, trying to grasp the darkness and let it suck him in. He wanted to fully become part of the emptiness he felt inside. Just disappear in a black hole, never to come back again. There wasn't much to come back to anyway. His dream career was gone, his love not answering his calls. His heart felt broken, stomped down by the people he loved.

Love.

He loved Sunghoon.

A sob escaped his lips as he realized that he had already lost the person he just realized he loved. Tears ran down his face again. He had been sure that he wasn't able to cry anymore, but here they were, spilling across his cheeks.

A soft knock sounded on the door.

Sunoo just buried himself deeper under the blanket, covering his whole body so that whoever had knocked would just disappear after taking a look inside.

He heard the door creak open, then soft footsteps and something being put down on his desk. Then the steps retreated again.

The door fell shut and Sunoo peaked from beneath the fabric.

Someone had put a tray with breakfast and juice on his desk.

He wasn't hungry.

Suddenly, his phone started to ring and he whirled around - only to see that it was Jungwon.

A sigh escaped his lips, but he picked up nonetheless.

"Sunoo! Is everything okay?"

He opened his mouth to answer, but the only thing that came out was a heartbreaking sob.

"Hyung! What's going on?"

The concern in the younger's voice was evident, but it did only little to soothe his pain.

He tried to speak between the sobs.

"My parents know everything."

"What? What do you mean? What do they know?"

"That I studied dance at university...that I disguised myself as a beta...that I dated Sunghoon."

"Oh God - how did they find out? And - wait - did you say you DATED Sunghoon? As in - the past tense???"

Sunghoon wanted to answer, but once again the realization that Sunghoon had probably betrayed him made his body shake in sobs.

"Kim Sunoo, talk to me! What's going on???"

"I think he betrayed me. He tattled to his dad. And he - his father told my parents. They went nuts. And now I'm withdrawn from university and grounded."
"No way!"

The shock was obvious in Jungwon's voice.

"I'm coming over!"

Sunoo sniffled before he spoke quietly.
