Sunghoon zipped up his bag, throwing one last look around his room to see if he had forgotten anything. He was going home for the break, as unhappy as he was about it, his mother himself had called him. She hadn't talked much since Seri's death and somehow hearing her voice made him sentimental. So he had agreed to come home.

He just hoped that his father was somehow miraculously not there and on a business trip. Last time Sunghoon had gone home his father had pulled him from one social gathering to the next, making sure that Sunghoon met all the rich and influential people his father was making business with.

The alpha heard the door open downstairs, Sunoo must have come home from his dance practice.

Sunghoon grabbed his bag and went downstairs. As he reached the lower level, Sunoo just finished taking off his shoes.

"Hi Sunghoonie! Are you leaving already?"

Sunghoon nodded. Somehow he wasn't too happy with the thought of leaving the beta alone, but there was no reason for him to stay.

Suddenly, he smelled this faint scent again. He had smelled it more often over the last week, but he didn't know where it was coming from. He was thinking about asking the younger if he was smelling it now, but he had asked Sunoo several times before and each time the younger had looked at him as if he was seeing ghosts, denying that there was a scent at all.

"Aw, that's a pity," Sunoo continued, "I thought you were leaving tomorrow and we could have a game night, but I guess I'll just stay in my bed and read a little then."

"Sorry," Sunghoon mumbled.

"Don't be sorry, silly! I am fine having some me-time! You go see your family!"

Sunghoon just nodded, not really sure what to do as Sunoo was blocking his way to his shoes.

The beta must have sensed the awkwardness, as he stepped aside quickly.

Sunghoon put on his shoes and grabbed his coat. He turned to Sunoo again to say goodbye by waving his hand awkwardly.

The younger chuckled, stepped forward and before the alpha could say anything, Sunoo's arms landed around his neck and pulled him into a gentle hug.

The sweet scent appeared again and his heartbeat picked up.

But before he could react, Sunoo pulled back, giving him a shy smile, his cheeks flushed.

"Have a safe trip, hyung. Drive safely and let me know when you arrive!"

Sunghoon nodded, grabbed his bag and left the room.

Only when he was sitting behind the wheel in his car did he break free from the spell Sunoo must have casted upon him.

Sunghoon arrived at his parent's country house about one and a half hours later. In fact, it wasn't really a house, is was more of a mansion, sat on the shore of the Namhan river.

He drove through the gate that opened automatically upon scanning his license plate, and up the small path to the entrance door.

As soon as he had parked his car, the front door opened and his father's personal assistant, Mr. Choi, appeared in the door frame.

Sunghoon took a deep breath and exited the car. He grabbed his bag from the backseat before going up the stairs to the main door.

"Hello Mr. Park. Your parents are already waiting for you."

Sunghoon just nodded and followed the man inside. He led him to the dining room, where his mother and father were already sitting at the table.

His mother looked up when he entered, her eyes as empty as ever, but at least she tried to smile at him.
