MERLIN'S P.O.V

I honestly don't know why i stay loyal to Arthur. He does not give a rat's ass about me. He always leaves me without a sword or any sort of protection when we go out on dangerous missions.
Even know when we are ridding too our deaths in the battle against Morgana. i don't have anything.
but still im here. Protecting him. hoping he will see what i do for him one day.
I am still hoping for the day i can say i have magic aloud and not be sentenced to death. i am waiting for Arthur to help me with that. And no matter how long it takes, i will be there by his side.
dam my feelings towards him.

"What is it Merlin?"
Arthur says while looking at me. he looks irritated.
"Nothing, just....thinking"
And it was true. i was thinking, just of stuff i would rather not tell him.
"are you sure?"
"Yes Arthur,"
"alright"
We continue on ridding until the night is upon us. We set up camp in a large area and i go get some fire wood. as usual.
The woods were very dark. Darker then usual.
I looked around too see if anyone was close to me then chanted a spell.
"beech naa lem"
A small light appeared above my head. now i could see all the sticks i needed. I started heading back when a twig snapped behind me. I froze. i turned around slowly and drop the sticks.
"Merlin! what a pleasant surprise"
Morgana.

ARTHUR'S P.O.V

Merlin has been in the forest for a while. i was just about to go look for him when i heard a scream. all my knights stood up. i ran into the forest. it did not take long to find him. he was in the middle of the forest on his knees wide eyed.
I run up to him.
"Merlin?"
He didn't say or do anything.
"Merlin? are you alright?"
Still nothing.
i wave my hand in front of his face. this time i get a response.
he falls on me. That's when i see a note attached to his back.
i rip it off his back, it has been stabbed into his back.

 Arthur,
i have found your servant using magic. it was very shocking i must say. i never would have thought. But i wish to say that the battle will commence tomorrow no matter where you are. we will fight and i shall win my throne.

My mind was swimming with questions and confusion.

without thinking of what i was doing, i picked Merlin up and carried him back to the camp. i laid him down on my cape and started to examine the wound. it looked....ugly. i am not an expert with this stuff.
"Someone get me Gaius"
Leon ran over to wear Gaius was and ushered him over too Merlin. At first Gaius looked calm and confused. Then he saw Merlin. a look of sadness crossed his face, seeing that wave of emotion on Gaius's face made me have a wave of emotion. and since i am the prince i had to hid it.
"Oh my dear boy....."
Gaius regained his professional appearance and set off to work.

It has been hours since Gaius started looking at Merlin and still nothing. Finally when i was about to give up waiting, Gaius stood up. i stood up with him.
"So, What is it Gaius?"
Gaius didn't say anything for a while, he just stared at me. then he opened his mouth. And the words he said, where the ones that stung.
"Im sorry Arthur, But Merlin is dead"
Gaius looked like he was about too cry and so was i.
"okay Gaius, we can figure it all out tomorrow."
Gaius nodded and went to go sleep. i took one last look at Merlin and went too sleep.

In the morning i woke up to the smell of food. It was weird because Merlin was always...the one...who made the food. i shot out of my bed and started looking around for Merlin. And there i found him. Next to the pot of food.
without thinking i ran up and hugged him. At first he did not respond and i was afraid it was al a dream, but then he hugged be back. even hugging him gave me butterflies. i let go of him and stared into his eyes.
"how the hell are you alive?"
"I have no clue. a miracle i guess"
"yes, a miracle that must be it."
we stared into each other's eyes for a while,
"The note on your back said you have magic. But i have a feeling that Morgana was just trying to get i my nerves. Right?"
I was hoping that he would say that he did not have magic. and that is exactly what he said.
"I don't have magic"
"good."
i patted him on the shoulder then went to my knights. Merlin went to go wake up Gaius.
