ARTHUR'S P.O.V

My feelings for Merlin were getting out of control. So i gave merlin the morning off, i said he should be back for lunch. You see, i have a plan. i was going to have lunch with him, then i was going to confess my feelings towards him. I was nervous, no i was scared. I did not know how he would react.
What if he does not like me back?
What if he calls me a unworthy king and friend?
What if he hates me?
"Arthur? Arthur are you alright?"
Lancelot was staring at me with a look of concern on his face. He knew what i was going too do so i could talk too him about it.
"Yes, i am fine. just nervous"
"Well don't be, i bet you Merlin has the same feelings as you do."
Lancelot smiled and walked away. He had been there all morning talking to me about how this was going to play out.

I took a deep breath and went too go get our food. it was almost lunch anyway. i brought back the food, they made it look very nice. They put the pork and potatoes on very nice plates.
I placed The plates on my table in my room. i put some flowers in the center and at the sides. There where Beautiful candle holders picked out by Lancelot. i felt good about the way it looks. And i finished just in time for lunch.
I was proud of myself.

"Arthur?"
Merlin's voice rang in the room when he opened the door.
"Ah Merlin, come take a seat"
I moved out of the way so he could see the table. His eyes widened and a small smile played on his lips.
"Wh- Arthur what is this? its beautiful"
"It is for you Merlin, please sit."
I walked him over to his chair and pulled it out for him to sit in. He sat and i pushed it back in. Once i sat down we started eating, occasionally i would look up too see Merlin looking right back at me. He blushed and looked down, i felt heat rise to my cheeks as well.
Merlin put his fork and knife down and placed his hands on the table. I stopped eating and reached for his hand, i did not know what i was doing but i grabbed his hand and entwined our fingers. At first Merlin did nothing, then he laced his fingers with mine. They fit perfectly together.

"Merlin i wish too tell you something."
Merlin nodded his head.
"i... i think- No i know, I Love you Merlin and I cant keep this from you anymore."
Merlin was silent for a while. I was scared i blew it, i knew he did not feel the same . I stood up.
"I am sorry Merlin i should not have said anything, please don't let th-"
"Arthur"
Merlin stood up and walked towards me. i looked at him, i had tears in my eyes.
I opened my mouth to say something but Merlin cut me off-again-by kissing me. It took me by surprise. At first i did not respond but then i kissed him back.

Merlin backed away and said
"i love you too"
I grinned and Kissed him again.

At this moment Merlin was helping me put on my armour. I had to go to a training, And as usual merlin was going to watch, maybe eve help. But he would be a target.
Merlin gave me  little tap on the shoulder witch shows me that he is done.
"Thank you Merlin"
Merlin looked at me oddly.
"Thank you? That's a first"
was it? i thought i say more. huh, well know i know. I got to the training grounds and faced my knights. today was the day we practice with maces. i pointed at two knights. One of them was Lancelot. They both stepped up and grabbed a mace, i did the same.

During the fighting i stole glances at Merlin, he was watching me. When i was looking at merlin Lancelot swung the mace into my stomach and i fell to the ground. I could hear some knights laughing, but the one that stood out was Merlin laughing. Lancelot gave me a hand and helped me stand up.
"Next time focus on fighting, not Merlin"
He winked and walked away.

The fighting took longer then normal witch was not good. I had to attend a council meeting. I made Merlin rush around getting everything ready, honestly i did not care how tired he was right now, i had to go. As soon as merlin finished dressing me i was speed walking to the council.
"Sorry i am late, what is the news"
"Um, Sire it is Mordred"
Leon says, he seems worried.
"what about him"
"He is planning an attack"
I was confused. Why would he want to attack Camelot?
"Okay, is he near?"
Leon nods.
"A few days away"
"Then we must prepare for the attack, Witch way is he coming from?"
"The east Sire"
I nodded and thought for a bit then an idea came too me.
"We shall meet him half way"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"We shall meet him at camlann"
I looked around the table, everyone agreed, except for Gaius. His eyes widened and he was looking over too Merlin. Merlin was paler then normal and his eyes were wide.
