a year later

The death of Gwain is still a huge burden on Merlin even though it has been a year. Merlin's magic is now used for the good of everyone. He is quite happy at how things turned out, he just wished that Gwain was here as well.
His feelings for the king have only grown stronger and harder too push away once the war had finished. Everything that had too do with anything reminded him of Arthur. It was sad how much Merlin thought of Arthur, he thought it was a one sided obsession. But he was wrong. The same thing had happened to the king himself. For whenever he heard Merlin giggle, his insides turned with feelings and he almost kisses him for it. Sometimes Arthur cries in his bed at night knowing Merlin does not feel the same.
And so does Merlin.

In both men's dreams they kiss. and the end result is always more crying. Gaius can hear when Merlin cries but he knows that he could do nothing for his son.

A/N: i am sorry that this chapter is tiny, but i need a small filler before the big ending. so this is a filler which is nice i suppose. and i know that Merlin is not Gaius's son, but that is what Gaius considers Merlin as.
