"Are you sure you want to invite me?" Ron asked Blaise for the hundredth time
They stood outside the Gryffindor common room entrance, the Fat Lady sound asleep in her portrait, despite it only being noon. Ron had been about to wake her, deciding to spend his free period playing chess with Harry or sleeping on the couch, when Blaise caught up to him.
Nodding Zabini raised an eyebrow, amused, "yes, Ron, I want to invite you to be my personal guest at my party."
Ron gaped at him, baffled that Blaise wanted to invite him to one of his fancy, expensive parties, "but-"
Blaise cut him off, saying simply, "but nothing, you're my boyfriend so it makes sense that you would be there."
Ron's ears went red at the word boyfriend, still not exactly used to the title, even after they had been together for a couple months now.
"Fine," Ron replied, his voice slightly shaky.
The slytherins's face brightened, "is that a yes?"
Ron nodded, before frowning, "what do I even wear?"
Zabini smirked, "leave that to me."
The two shared a kiss and Blaise walked off, shouting over his shoulder, "I'll pick you up at 5."
Ron mumbled a few things under his breath before waking the Fat Lady and stepping into the common room.
At 10 minutes to 5, Ron was pacing around the common room, anxiety rising. He wasn't used to going to big fancy parties. That was Harry's thing, not his.
When the porthole swung open, Ron looked up expectantly, deflating a little when he saw Hermione.
Hermione looked at him, catching the look before rolling her eyes and smirking, "don't be so disappointed Ron, Zabini is waiting for you in the hall."
She gave him an encouraging squeeze on the shoulder before hurrying off to the girls dorm.
Taking a stabilizing breath, Ron stepped out into the hall, his eyes landing on Blaise, already dressed in a very expensive suit. In his right hand, he carried a large bag, it's contents concealed. In his left, he had a single red rose, which he handed to Ron, before taking the hand that wasn't clutching the rose.
The Gryffindor relaxed slightly, before glancing at the bag, "what's in there?" He asked suspiciously.
"You'll see," was all Blaise said before quickly changing the subject, admitting sheepishly, "the party actually doesn't start till 6 but I figured we could hang out at my house until then."
~
They walked out of the castle, Blaise assuring Ron that he had gotten permission for the both of them to leave the grounds. Once they had passed through the protective boundary, they disapparated, appearing at the entrance of the Zabini mansion.
Since the disappearance of Blaise's mother after the war, the house and all the inheritance had gone to him. Throughout Blaise's childhood, the house hadn't really felt like home. So, his first goal had been to make it more welcoming, removing the decorations that gave it an intimidating feel and replacing them with things that brightened the room.
Servants scurried around the house, not paying Ron or Zabini any attention as they set up for the party.
They made their way up the staircase and down the long corridor until they came to the room at the end of the hallway. Blaise opened the door for Ron and they entered into Blaise's private quarters.
Setting down the bag on the glass coffee table, the Slytherin began pulling out it's contents and handing them to Ron.
Zabini pointed to the door across from them, "you can change in the bathroom."
~
"How much did these cost?" Ron asked, still not coming out of the bathroom.
He heard Blaise chuckle from somewhere in the sitting room, "does it really matter?"
Ron hesitantly opened the door, fixing the shirt.
Blaise was momentarily at a loss of words as he stared at his boyfriend. His suit was a navy blue that looked wonderful on Ron.
"Does it look okay?" Ron asked, becoming anxious under Blaise's stare.
Snapping out of his trance, Blaise cleared his throat, "you look amazing."
They shared another kiss, a knock on the door cutting it short.
"Come in," Blaise called and the butler stepped into the room.
"The guests have begun to arrive," was all the man said before bowing and exiting the room.
Blaise turned to look at Ron, a pleasant smile on his face, "shall we go?"
With a nod, Ron followed Blaise out the door and back down the stairs.
~
After greeting each of the guests, Blaise and Ron made their way into the ballroom, joining the dancing.
As he danced, Ron decided he rather liked fancy parties.
