There was honestly nothing to do at 4:30 am. Nothing except for alcohol and dancing.

But I didn't want that.

So I called my favorite pancake place, asked if they could prepare something for me.

Normally they opened at 6am with their breakfast menu, but fortunately, they wanted to open early, for me.

They were gonna get a big tip for sure.

"Are you gonna bring me home? Or what's the plan?" Francesca asked as she grabbed her stuff and we walked out of the club together.

"Are you hungry?" I asked. "I actually am" she answered.

"Then let's go" I smiled, grabbed my car keys. "Are you driving?" She asked.

I nodded. "Yeah why not?"

"Because you drank alcohol"

I had one glass in the beginning of the night, but I wasn't gonna fight it. "Then you drive" I said as I gave her the keys.

"You want me to drive your Mclaren?" She frowned, but I could see she was a little excited as well.

"Yes, I trust you"

"Alright" she smiled, walked to the Mclaren proudly. "You can be my passenger princess"

"I would gladly be your passenger princess" I laughed. She was joking around, that was a good sign.

"So where are we going?" She said as she started the car. "I will guide you" I answered.

And that's what I did. I guided her to my favorite pancake place.

It was my favorite place not only because the pancakes were amazing, but also because of the view.

It was also the first thing she noticed when she parked the car.

"I never drove such an expensive car before, let alone a Mclaren" she smiled as she gave the keys back. "Thanks for that"

Fuck, I would gladly buy her 10 Mclaren's if it made her smile and happy like that.

"I don't think this place is open though" she said.

"Oh it is open" I said, put my hand on her lower back to guide her inside. She let me, she didn't push my hand away or something.

Another good sign.

The owner greeted us, treated us like royalty and when Francesca wasn't looking, I gave him my credit card and a big tip in cash.

We sat down and the mood changed a little.

It went serious again.

"Francesca, I promise you, that girl kissed me, I didn't want to kiss her, not at all"

She nodded, she believed me, but I guess that wasn't the biggest problem.

"And I didn't remember that bet, you were never a bet, I don't want one month with you, I want a lifetime"

She tilted her head a little.

"I just can't trust you Lando, I am constantly thinking you will cheat on me" she sighed. "You know what I felt when I saw that picture of that girl and you?"

I shook my head.

"I kinda expected it" she looked at me. "It was like my heart was prepared for it, that I was just waiting for it"

"What can I do to gain your trust?" I asked but unfortunately I kinda knew the answer.

"Nothing, that's the problem" she shrugged. "You were wonderful and I was still constantly worrying"

I nodded, pushed my pancake around with my fork. I messed it up way before I met her.

My past made her not trust me, she would never trust me.

Especially when we would be away from each other all the time.
I know she was scared of that, she didn't want the American Grand Prix to start because we would be away from each other for months.

"Okay" I looked up at her. "So there is nothing I can do to make you trust me?"

"I don't think so" she whispered. "I hope you will have an amazing life though, you deserve it"

"You too" I mumbled.

My heart broke, then and there, in my favorite pancake place.

We didn't know each other for a long time, not at all, but it felt just different with her. She was mature, didn't use me for fame or money, had her own job, was incredibly funny and so so cute.

It just felt as if I just lost the love of my life even before we started.
