"And they lived happily ever after." The woman finished. "It ended just like that?" The little boy whined. He sat up from his bed, looking up at his mother. "Well I wouldn't say it ended just there. There's more adventures to come." She winked. "But the pirate Captain was supposed to rule the seas." The little boy sighed, crossing his arms. "Why don't you write it?" The mother suggested, standing up. "Write it? How?" The little boy tilted his head. "Write your own destiny." The woman smiled, tucking the little boy back in as he leaned back. "My own destiny?" He questioned. The mother kissed his head. "I wrote mine, you can write yours." She smiled, taking the candle that was lit. "You have a story?" The boy watched as she stepped closer to the door. "Yes." She turned. "Maybe I'll write mine when I become older. I'll be the best Captain you have ever seen." The boy smiled, his eyes drooping. She softly chuckled. "Good night Oliver." She spoke softly, closing the door. She walked into her own bedroom, placing the candle on the nightstand. Her husband was washing up in the next room, she could hear the water running. She sighed, getting into bed. The crickets chirped outside the window. She pulled the covers up, getting comfortable as her husband walked into the room. He climbed into bed beside her. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. "How did Oliver take your little story?" He asked. The woman softly smiled, brushing a few hairs out of his face. "He was upset by the happy ending." She sighed. "That boy is crazy. He only was interested in the pirates." She shook her head. The husband chuckled. "I would be too, if I wasn't the one who lived through it. I'm more interested in the protagonist." He smirked, pressing a quick peck to her lips. "Oh Cassian, you never change do you?" Sariah shook her head again, rolling over onto her side. "I thought you liked me." He squeezed her gently, pressing his chest against her back. "Liked, would be an exaggeration." She teased, blowing out the candle. Cassian chuckled, nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck. "Then what would you say?" He raised an eyebrow. "The word you're looking for is loved." She placed a hand over his. "Love seems more fitting." He teased, pressing a kiss on her skin. She softly chuckled. "You are such a charmer." She whispered. "Hey! That's my line, remember?" Cassian teased, pressing one last kiss to her lips as she turned her head.
Now you can call that a happy ending....
The End.
