Chapter 7

I wake up and feel nervousness hit me like a ton of bricks. Today is my date with Alex. Tanya slept over so she could help me get ready. I shake her shoulders. "Tanya! Tanya get up!" I say still shaking her.

"I'm up" she mumbles sleepily sitting up. I slide out of bed and grab a hoody. I pull it over my tank top, and head downstairs. I see Aron flipping pancakes when I enter the kitchen.

"You made breakfast?" I ask him.

"What I can't make breakfast for my sister?" He says.

"Okay what do you want?" I ask him putting one hand on my hip.

"Tell me what you're doing tonight!" He says desperately.

"How do you know I have plans?" I ask him.

"Once again, learn to talk quieter" he says. Tanya enters the kitchen and sits at the island.

"Well it's nothing" I say.

"If it's a boy I swear..." "

Aron!" I interrupt him "you can't protect me forever!" I say.

"I can try" he huffs. He flips the pancakes again and adds them to the already towering plate of pancakes. He sets down the plate on the island, and I sit beside Tanya. We each grab two and I put syrup on mine.

"Well is it a boy?" Aron asks.

"No" I lie eating a piece of my pancake. Tanya looks up but I elbow her.

"What Tanya?" Aron asks her. She looks at me and I shoot her a death glare. She smiles and looks at my older brother.

"It's a boy" she laughs.

"See I told you, I can read you like a book" Aron says sticking his tongue out at me.

"Oh whatever Aron, maybe she's lying" I say. He laughs

"Yeah right look at that blush" he says poking my cheek. I get up and put my empty plate in the sink.

I turn to Tanya "you're dead" her eyes widen and she jumps off her chair, running out of the kitchen. I chase her around the house until she gets into the bathroom and locks it.

"You can't hide forever!" I call out from the other side of the door.

"Yes I can!" She yells back. I huff and walk towards my room. I go in and try to find something to wear. After about ten minutes of trying to find something, Tanya enters my room.

"Okay help me find something to wear!" I say.

"Well where are you guys going?" She asks.

"I don't know! He wouldn't tell me" I say. "But I think he did say we're going to a restaurant." I say.

"Okay hold on" Tanya says walking into my walk in closet. I sit on my bed and wait for her to come back out. After about ten minutes Tanya comes back out. She has a short red dress, and black heels in her hands.

"His favorite colours, smart" I say. She smiles and hands me the clothes walking over to my jewelry box. I slide the fitted short dress on and leave my shoes for later. Tanya walks back over to me holding a simple heart necklace, and black studs. I put the earrings in, and then put on the necklace.

"Okay, how should I do your hair?" Tanya asks more so talking to herself. "Oh! I know" she says pulling me into my bathroom. She waterfall braids my hair, and curls the bottoms of the pieces not in the braid. She leaves my side bangs down. She pulls out my makeup bag and applies my usual eyeliner and mascara. But she also does a smokey eye shadow, and foundation.

"Okay and we're done!" Tanya says clapping her hands together.

"Finally!" I say getting up and walking to where my shoes are. I slip them on, and walk to my full sized mirror. I stand there speechless.

"Oh my god Tanya!" I say looking at my best friend who's just smirking.

"You're welcome" she says. "Alex is going to be here soon, we should go downstairs." Tanya says. I nod.
