Chapter 15

I woke up an hour ago, and right now mom is making breakfast. Alex comes down the stairs and smiles at me. "Morning" I say.

"Good morning" He says, sitting beside me on the couch. "Feeling better about what your da- Eric has to say?" Alex corrects himself.

"Yeah actually I am. This actually seems kind of cool" I admit to him. Alex opens his mouth to say something but my moms yelling that breakfast is ready interrupts.

"Lets go eat" He says getting up quickly. I follow him into the kitchen and we sit at the island.

"Mom did everyone stay here last night?" I ask my mom.

"Yup." my mom says.

"But, aren't we short one room?" I ask her.

"Exactly what your brother said. I made him share his room with Tanya" my mom says smiling like an evil genius, while dropping two pancakes on my plate. I burst out laughing

"Oh my god mom that's genius! Make the two biggest bed hoggers share a bed!" I say still laughing.

"Exactly, but now we need to listen to them whine" My mom says, and almost on cue two heavy sets of foot steps rush down the stairs.

"Never again!" Aron says storming into the kitchen, taking the stool next to me.

"What he said!" Tanya says sitting by Alex.

"What?" I tease. Tanya glares at me.

"Your big ass brother bogged his bed all night!" she complains.

"Exactly my bed!" Aron says. "Why didn't you share with Kate!" Aron says.

"Kate needed time to think!" Tanya says. Aron rolls his eyes and starts eating the pancakes on his plate. Eric comes downstairs and smiles.

"Good morning everyone" he says. Everyone mutters good mornings, or hey's back. "Alex, may I talk to you for a minute?" Eric says nodding to the hallway. Alex nods and stands up. They go Into the hallway and emerge minutes after. "Kate whenever you're ready to talk about this come to the living room" Eric says walking away. I finish eating and look to Aron.

"I'm gunna go talk to Eric" I say standing up. I go into the living room and sit down in a chair across from him.

"Where should we begin?" Eric says, somewhat to himself.

"I uh, read about vampires last night" I say. Eric looks up smiling slightly.

"You know about our affinities then?" He asks eyes twinkling I nod. "let's talk hypothetically then. When you change, we have to learn your affinity so you don't hurt anyone." Eric says.

"What's your affinity?" I ask him.

"Logicâ and Hipnoză Logic, and hypnosis in Romanian" he says. I raise my eyebrows.

"So.. you can hypnotize people, what does logic do?" I ask.

"Logic does more then most realize. It is really powerful. I can foresee some things, but we're not sure if that's from logic, as I said I'm one of the most powerful vampires, but I can also recal events in history that most don't. remarkable memory is a perk too" He says.

"Could.. you foresee if I'll turn?" I ask in disbelief.

"That's why I'm here. Most girls don't, but I had a vision where you did." Eric tells me.

"Will.. will it hurt?" I ask.

"Changing? It usually knocks you out." Eric says. I nod my head once as if to agree. "I think if you change it'll be over the course of next week. I just have a feeling" Eric tells me.

"So how will I know if I start changing?" I ask.

"Your senses will get more sensitive first. You'll be able hear breathing perhaps, and you'll be able to see for miles in the day, and see clearly in the dark, then you'll most likely start getting headaches, after the headaches knock you out you'll change"

"Sounds painful" I say.

"It is"
