Chapter Four : The Boy And His Hoodie
Chaeryeong arrived at Downtown Café, the familiar scent of coffee and pastries flooding her senses as she stepped into the cozy establishment.
A grin spread across Chaeryeong's face as she spotted Yuna sitting at their usual spot near the window. The energetic younger girl waved her over with a bright smile, "Eonnie!" ringing in her ears.
"Yuna!" Chaeryeong replied, making her way over to the table.
"How's Seoul?" The younger girl asked with a grin.
Chaeryeong took a seat across from Yuna, chuckling at her question. "It was good," she replied, a small smile playing on her lips, "Seoul's been...eventful." her thoughts immediately drifting to the mysterious boy from Seoul.
"I heard there are lot's of good looking boys there." Yuna says curiously.
Chaeryeong rolled her eyes playfully, knowing where this conversation was headed. "Oh, you have no idea," she said with a hint of sarcasm. "Seoul is practically crawling with them."
"Did you find one..." Chaeryeong's cheeks tinged pink as she evaded Yuna's gaze, fiddling with the hem of the hoodie.
"Maybe," she confessed, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "There was a guy..."
"Oh tell me!" Chaeryeong chuckled at Yuna's eagerness, her friend's excitement contagious. She leaned in closer, as if sharing a secret. "Okay, so there was this guy I met at a convenience store..."
Chaeryeong recounted the events of that night in Seoul, from the unnerving encounter to the mysterious boy who had come to her rescue. She could feel Yuna's eyes glittering with excitement as she listened intently, hanging on her every word.
In the midst of her storytelling, Chaeryeong was interrupted by the sound of the café bell, her gaze following the sound. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw the familiar figure of the boy from Seoul stepping into the café.
Her eyes widened in surprise as she took in the sight of him holding a skateboard. There was no mistaking it, it was definitely the same guy.
Yuna, sensing Chaeryeong's surprised expression, followed her gaze and spotted the boy. A smirk tugged at the corners of her lips.
Chaeryeong ducked her head, trying to hide her face from the boy's view. Her cheeks blazed with embarrassment, praying that he hadn't noticed her staring.
Yuna, on the other hand, found the situation amusing. She stifled a giggle, her eyes flickering between her friend and the boy.
"I can recognize that hoodie from a mile away." The boy's voice broke through the fog in her mind, his words sending a jolt through her. She looked up to see him smirking down at her, his eyes fixated on the hoodie she wore.
Realization dawned on her as she remembered the hoodie he had lent her in Seoul. Her cheeks flushed an even deeper shade of red, a mix of embarrassment and surprise coloring her expression.
"You...recognize it," she managed to say, her voice a soft whisper. The boy chuckled, a low, attractive sound that made her heart skip another beat.
