An English assessment I made for school, woohoo! This is basically an Epic Minigames x Rainimator crossover, woah. This is also split into four parts.
The wind whooshed past the stone castle as rays of sunshine danced across the tundra's horizon. Birds fluttered in the early afternoon breeze as Hilda stepped outside the castle. Hilda breathed in the smell of the surrounding earth as the wind played with her braided hair. She straightened her hair down and took a step forward, leaving a footprint on the snowy terrain of the tundra. Hilda paused and her hands trembled before turning into fists. She glanced for bystanders but found herself alone outside in the frozen lowland. Her hands loosened and she exhaled deeply, showing a new determination on her face.
Hilda took another step forward and began her stride across the snow, a sense of purpose in every step. The nearby structures blended into the background as Hilda neared the front gate. The guards looked in her direction and nodded at her, opening the gates wide. Hilda crept to the steel gate and looked back with narrowed eyes but still saw nobody else around. She nodded to the guards before glancing at the winter wilderness beyond and taking a deep breath. She pushed past the open gate and stepped out of the castle walls.
Hilda slowly trudged along the tundra. Authority boomed with her steps, but a sense of struggle slipped out occasionally. Then, Hilda picked up her pace, breaking into a sprint. The wind accompanied Hilda on her sprint as she scattered footprints in the snow, her surroundings becoming an abstract blur. Suddenly, Hilda's ears pricked up padded footsteps behind her. Hilda stopped and looked back at the castle, now a mere silhouette blending into the distance. She looked for another soul in sight as the wind twirled around her, teasing her racing heart.
"Show yourself!" she yelled against the wind. The wind howled in response, taunting Hilda further. Hilda scrunched her face and stood straighter as she clenched her hands into fists. Time stood still as the wind softened its mocking, now calming Hilda's heart. Hilda shook her head and let go of her fists. A scowl spread across her face as she sighed, disappointment escaping her breath. Hilda turned around and looked up. The mountain stood tall and menacing, towering over her like humongous forest trees. Hilda gasped before breathing slowly and stepping forward to the mountain's base.
Hilda began ascending to the mountain's summit, each step in the thick snow a struggle. The wind lapped against her hair and the atmosphere became hazy. Hilda ploughed her way through and soon found herself at the mountain's peak. Hilda stopped and looked at the yawning mouth of the cave and exhaled, slowly catching her breath. The weight of the staff on her back reminded her of her mission, the quest she had yet to complete. Hilda brought a hand to its shaft and slid the staff off her back. The ominous eye at the top waved at Hilda with its menacing glow. Hilda rolled her eyes at it before hardening her face and stepping into the cave. She looked around the familiar cavern with its rough walls and natural slopes. Hilda eyed the giant black horn to her left and approached the horn with caution, gripping the staff tightly.
"I call the Overseers of the void. I call you to summon the almighty Obseruvos," she declared, pointing the staff at the horn. Green sparks began forming from the eye as a faint beam pulsed through the air. Hilda held the staff high and proud as the beam reached the horn's mouthpiece. The horn made a booming sound, wispy green vapours escaping from the horn's bell. The corners of Hilda's mouth twitched upwards, an unusual face for the cold-hearted warrior to form.
A dark ominous portal appeared by the horn, grabbing Hilda's attention. She dropped the staff and picked up her helmet lying by the horn. She slid the helmet on and approached the portal cautiously. Hilda nearly stepped a foot into the portal when she felt something tug at her hand. She turned around, a grimace on her face, but her eyes widened to see her friend's familiar face.
"Nostra? Did you follow me here?"
Nostra nodded before straightening themselves. "I sensed that you've been keeping secrets from me. What is this all about Hilda? Why have you called the Overseers to summon Obseruvos?"
"Ser Patrick has placed me on a mission to defeat Obseruvos. This does not concern you, Nostra." Nostra opened their mouth to object, but then they sighed sadly.
"Very well, Hilda. Good luck defeating Obseruvos," Nostra whispered, bowing to Hilda. Hilda curtsied to Nostra and watched as they walked away. Then, Nostra stopped and turned to face Hilda again.
"Be safe, Hilda. We both know I don't want to lose you again."
Nostra turned again and headed to the cave's looming mouth. Hilda stared at Nostra as their footsteps thundered, pondering over their words. She turned to face the portal, her face now in a scowl.
"I don't want to lose you again either."
Nostra gasped and turned to the portal, but Hilda was already gone.
