Getting Prepared

(Angel's POV)

I look at Husk sleeping in his blanket while wrapped like a burrito..... He looks so peaceful...... He keeps shuffling in his sleep and mumbling while his face is in the pillow.. It's genuinely so adorable.

But that's not the point.

The point is I need to plan the PERFECT date. I grab a pen and paper while going to my desk.
Wait.
What does a perfect date entail?

Uhhhhhhh

Damn it.

What would Husk want to do? What was his original plan for the perfect date when we first got together?

We went to that restaurant.....
Then went to see a movie.....
Then we went to walk by the red river.....
Then we were supposed to make love......

Well obviously we can't do the last thing but.....

I write some ideas down and bite at my pen...... God..... This has to go perfectly.....

I go on my phone and book a table at a fancy restaurant and ask when they are having a magic show night..... Tomorrow...... Okay okay..... I book a table. I hope the food is good......

I then call Scarlett asking if she knew Husk's favourite movie..... I then ask if she was willing to threaten the people at the cinema do not only would they play the movie but they would provide free food and not let anyone but me and Husk in tomorrow..... I thank her then hang up....

Now I just need something for the river walk....... I text Cherri asking her to set up a romantic spot by the red river. I then hear Husk talk in his sleep?

I walk closer

Husk: *mumbles in his sleep* "Angel~....." *his fur and wings ruffles slightly?*

He's smiling so it's surprisingly not a bad dream but he keeps shuffling..... I then feel some eyes on me.... I turn and see Alastor in the shadows....

I groan

Alastor: *tilts his head* "what's wrong? Last I checked I helped you earlier."

*I roll my eyes* "can't you bother Charlie or Vaggie"

Alastor: *shakes head* "they are...." *pauses for a moment* "uh having their alone time?"

*I chuckle* "you heard their moans when walking to their room..... didn't you?" *Alastor's eyes look to the right slightly* "pffft is that why you are here now?"

Alastor rolls his eyes and goes to snap so he could disappear but I quickly stop him.

"woah hey! Wait I need you for something. Well not for something. I want to discuss your deal with Husk. The original one."

Alastor: *tilts head still smiling like always* "what about it?"

*I sigh* "you didn't win it properly"

Alastor: *squints eyes* "I never cheat in my deals nor bets."

*I nod* "I'm not accusing you of cheating. I know Chaz purposely rigged the game so Husk would lose"

Alastor: *laughs* "oh really?"

*I nod again* "yes. I'm not sure how to prove it but Chaz told-"

Alastor snaps his fingers which catches me off guard. Suddenly we are in a casino and I see a younger looking Husk and Alastor? I see normal Alastor next to me. I then realise we are watching him and Husk's game..... The game Husk lost..... What the hell?

We watch all the games they have up to the final one.... The younger version of both of them take a break and the dealer of the game goes to Chaz who gives the dealer a separate card deck. Alastor shuffles slightly adjusting his posture. I think he realised I'm right..... Okay Angel remember you need to lean into the fairness.... I need to be able to get him to accept one more game.... That's all I need..... That's all Husk needs......

After the final game Alastor teleports us back to reality? I don't even know if that was real......

Alastor: *chuckles clearly bothered he didn't realise at the time* "so you were right."

*I nod* "yes. You won unfairly"

Alastor: *chuckles and shakes his head* "I see where this is going....."

*I sigh* "so you know you know you have to give Husk another chance. Redo the original deal/bet. Whatever it was."

Alastor: *shakes head* "I don't have to do anything."

*I think for a moment knowing I can't overreact* "well for the integrity of your deal wouldn't you want it to be fair?"

Alastor: *his face twitches* "I suppose."

*i sigh* "so?"

Alastor: *nods* "fine. I'll allow one more game with Husk. Just one. He wins he gets his soul back. I win he remains as he is. But if I win I also want you to stop trying to get Husk's soul back."

I nod and he disappears. I then sigh and sit next to Husk who is still asleep. Still saying my name over and over. After a while he begins to wake up.

Husk~: *groans his voice gravelly as he slowly wakes* "ugh...."

"good mornin~"

Husk~: *covers his head with pillow* "five more minutes...... Let me finish my dream....."

*I chuckle* "you had a good dream? That's a first in a while....."

Husk~: *unwraps himself and slowly sits up stretching and groaning* "you could say that....."

I cover my mouth to try not to show my smile as I notice his bulge..... Did his dream have something to do with that??..... He was saying my name so could he have had a...... No...... Husk wouldn't have those sorta dreams..... Would he?..... Did he have them while we were together???? I look away pretending not to have noticed as he quickly covers crotch with the blanket..... I hold back my laugh..... I then look back at him and couldn't help but chuckle at his redness alongside how awake he is now clearly embarrassed..... He scratches the back of his head and offers to watch me sleep. Likely trying to find a way out of explaining that..... I nod forcing myself not to ask about his dream despite desperately wanting to know if it's related to his bulge...... I lay down and close my eyes..... I hear him ask if he can use my shower and I chuckle while nodding slightly..... I hear him go into my bathroom..... I fall asleep not long after I hear the water from the shower.....

(creators note: double update technically if you're American. Technically the Sunday update for UK. For anywhere else idfk it's either the second update for the day or the next day update. Point still stands. This is my way of saying I wrote half of this after midnight. I'm so tired. But also I've sorta accepted that my updates are gonna be whenever I feel like it. Anyhoo I need sleep. Love yall. I should probably proofread it but reading is hard and I'm tired. So uh sorta sleep deprived chapter 💪 my eyes hurt. This is the second chapter in a row where i just wrote whatever I wanted as a note. Uh fun. Night night. If this ain't motivation to go through all my chapters to fix spellings and remove unnecessary notes I don't know what is. Anyhoo. Night night yall)
