The bang that woke Carl up had, of course, startled him quite a bit. He sat up in the small bed he had shared with Ron the previous night. Neither boy had minded. The two had been so close all night that there had been room to spare. His husband was sitting at the foot of the bed, a guilty look on his face. "I'm so sorry baby. I didn't mean to wake you up." He said softly, reaching down to pick up the shoe he had dropped.

"Its ok. It's probably time to get up anyway." Carl replied, stretching after he rubbed his eye. While Carl's arms were up, Ron placed his hands on his ribs. He leaned over and kissed his cheek, his forehead, and then his other cheek. Carl's arms went around Ron once he was done stretching. "I love you." Ron whispered, now kissing his lips. Carl kissed back for a moment or two. "I love you too." He declared with a smile.

The mischievous smile on Ron's face told Carl he was about to make a move. He did so, his hand moving to his thigh. He moved his hand towards Carl's body, then up his shirt. Carl blushed and shook his head. "What are you up to?" He smiled. "I think you know." Ron whispered, moving and kissing his neck.
"Something we don't have time for?" Carl asked. "There's always time.." he answered, continuing to kiss him.

"When we get home. You're going to have to wait." He told him. The exaggerated sad face Ron gave him only made him laugh. "Don't be dramatic." He smiled. "I'm not. I'm heartbroken." He whispered, obviously joking. "Don't be. Once we're home.. I'm all yours." He said sincerely, taking the other boy's hand. Ron smiled now, rubbing his hand. "I'm excited now." He declared. "Good. Now let's go so we can get home." Carl replied.

"1985." Mikey declared confidently. "What? Why?" Ron replied, walking next to him on the dusty road. "I don't know.. I think it'd be cool. I could see my dad when he was young, no walkers.." Mikey explained. "I guess." He sighed. The group was walking towards hilltop to drop off the supplies they had gathered yesterday. "I think I'd want to go back to the fifties." Jerry jumped into their conversation with a smile.

"I think I'm ok with now. Especially over the fifties" Ron decided after a moment. "Oh I'm sure you are." Mikey joked, obviously referring to how Ron wasn't constantly under threat of being eaten alive. Ron had more so been referring to the fact that he was gay, but whatever made Mikey happy. "You can just say you're jealous, Mikey." Ron joked back, pulling cigarettes out of his pocket. "Where the hell did you get those?" Mikey asked. He definitely didn't have those before. "Do you know how many hiding places there are at the sanctuary? Sometimes I forget what's where." He explained before offering him a cigarette. "Ew. Keep your lung cancer, man." He shook his head.

Carl had been silent as he walked next to his husband. He now reached over and held his hand, still being quiet for a moment.
"Ronnie?" He whispered. The boy looked at him, smiling gently. The love in his eyes when he looked at him didn't go unnoticed by Carl. "I love you." He said, smiling back at him. "I love you too." He replied, leaning over and kissing his cheek. Mikey couldn't help but sigh and roll his eyes. They acted like teenagers 'in love' for the first time.

Ron had never been fond of the hilltop, and the hilltop had never been fond of him. Now that Maggie had such an influence on the place, this displeasure between the people of the hilltop and Ron only grew.

Noticeably to the other communities, the women of Oceanside had been spending more and more time with the people of the hilltop. This wasn't a concern, just an observation. Ezekiel had told Rick this was a good thing due to how hesitant Oceanside initially was to be in contact with the communities. The group opening up could only be a good thing.
