-

Ron opened his eyes, the sun shining through the curtains and hitting his face.
He rubbed his eyes and sat up, only now realizing he was in Mikey's bed.
He sighed, remembering that he, Mikey, and Enid had gotten drunk last night.
He looked at the clock, seeing it was past four pm.
"Fuck!" Ron whispered yelled, knowing this was bad.
Dad is gonna fucking kill me. He thought to himself, getting up hastily.
And where was Mikey and Enid? He would have sworn they were there last night.

Ron walked down the stairs, hoping to find Mikey down there.
"Mikey?" He said, entering the kitchen.
"Oh, hey Ron. I didn't know you were here." Tobin said.
"I fell asleep. Where's Mikey?" Ron asked, looking around.
"He's with Enid. I'm not sure where though. Can't be far." Tobin said, assuming the two wouldn't leave the safety of Alexandria.
"Ok." Ron said softly, leaving to go home and face his father.

-

The door of the Andersons house creaked open, the boy opening it hoping his dad was at work.

"Where the fuck have you been?" Pete's words broke Ron's hope.
"Mikey's." Ron said quietly, shutting the door behind himself.
"Mikey's? Did I say you could stay at Mikey's?" Pete asked, coming closer to his son.
Ron didn't know what to say. He was fucked no matter what.
"Speak when you're spoken to." Pete demanded.
"No. You didn't. Sorry." Ron said quickly.
"What did I say?! About doing shit without permission?!" Pete said in angry tone.

Knock knock

A knock on the door stopped Pete from hitting Ron, but it was only a temporary distraction.

Pete opened the door slightly, his whole demeanor changing to be polite.
"Hey Mr. Anderson. Is Ron here?" Mikey's voice asked from outside.
"Yeah, but he's busy." Pete said, acting like everything was fine.
"Oh. Can you tell him to come over when he's not?" Mikey said, seemingly believing Pete.
"Sure, but it might be a while. His room is pretty messy." Pete replied, coming up with an excuse.
"Yeah I told him to clean it forever ago. See you around." Mikey said happily, buying the bullshit story and leaving.

Pete shut the door and turned back towards Ron.
He was standing out of view of the door, a look of fear and sadness on his face.

-

"He's busy. Cleaning his room apparently. Terrible timing. Sorry Carl. You'll love him, I swear." Mikey said, coming down of the porch of the Andersons house.
Carl had just arrived to Alexandria that day, and was getting aquatinted with the kids his age.
"I bet." Carl said quietly, still feeling a bit shy.
"Come on. We can show all the cool spots." Enid said, disappointed with Ron's absence.

-

"I can't help that you two suck. That's not cheating." Mikey claimed, Carl and Enid accusing him of cheating in their card game.
"Four wins in a row? It's a little suspicious." Enid claimed, shuffling the cards for a new round.
"Suspicious doesn't equal guilty." Mikey said with a smile.
"It might." Carl said, looking at the cards Enid was giving him.

Knock knock
"I'll get it." Mikey said, heading to the door.
"Ron? Where have you been? I'm kicking their asses in here. Come on." Mikey said excitedly, letting his best friend inside.
"Their?" Ron said, confused as he was still unaware of Carl and his group.
"Oh yeah. Ron this is Carl. He's new. Carl this is Ron. I know I said to stay away from him, but we have to deal with him sometimes." Mikey joked as he introduced the two.
