Mikha's POV
"So, when are you going to confess your feelings to Jhoanna?" I asked Colet, returning after saying goodbye to Aiah.
Colet just glared at me, as if I'd uttered the most ridiculous thing in the world. I chuckled, settling beside her on the floor, facing my laptop.
"I haven't even introduced myself to her yet, and you want me to confess?" She slapped my back, hard.
"Relax, you're so weak." I laughed, but she just swore at me.
She's been head over heels for Jhoanna for a year now. Jhoanna, a journalism student with a magnetic personality on camera, is Colet's heart's desire. I'd considered asking her to be my secretary, but she and Sheena are close, so I abandoned the idea.
"Do you really think Sheena will go that far? I mean, I can see she's determined to lead, but—you know." I asked Colet.
"She's afraid of losing again, just like the previous election where you two ran as vice president. But I hope my bebe girl Jho will go against it." She dreamily stated the last part. I cringed in disgust.
"Well, I'm not bothered by the rumors. But I'm just worried that it will create a war between the supporters of both parties. I wouldn't want our people fighting because of this matter." I sighed.
"I'll be so proud of them if they roast our opponent." Colet responded, and this time, she's the one who received a hard slap on her back.
I don't even know why I became best friends with her. We're both nonchalant and cold to others, but I'll never pick a fight with anyone again.
She complained that it hurt, but I just glared at her.
The school year will end two weeks after the CSC election, so we need to polish our papers. We'll submit them for a competition for best leadership in other schools. Our school might not be the most popular, but we always beat them when it comes to performances.
And the election will be on Monday already, and today is Friday.
I'm not nervous at all.
I closed my laptop and laid on the floor, using Colet's lap as a pillow. I stared at her face, and I really admit that she's beautiful. But why can't she have the courage to talk to Jhoanna?
"You should break up with Aiah if you're secretly in love with me, Mikha." She stated.
What the?
"You're disgusting." I cringed my face so hard and acted like I was about to puke.
"You, staring at me is more disgusting."
"Well, because I was wondering why you're such a chicken." I responded back, and she glared at me.
"Piskit, after the election, I will approach her, okay? I'm not going to chicken out." She slightly slapped my forehead.
She also complained that I should help her with the papers, but I just closed my eyes and slept on her lap.
"That's what you get for focusing on food instead of the work." I stated with my eyes closed. I also decided not to disturb her anymore so she could finish her work. I know she's already tired from the campaigns and classes we still need to comply with.
Nicolette Vergara is my best friend since primary school. Our friendship literally started after we brought our parents to the principal's office because we almost killed each other. I really hated Colet when we were young, to the point that we punched each other in the garden way back in grade school.
We both hated each other because no one wanted to approach each other first. I thought she hated me because she wasn't talking to me, and that's also what she thought about me. We thought we hated each other, that's why we hated each other and glared at each other until she accidentally threw a tiny stone at my feet. By "accident," I know she did it on purpose. Of course, because I hated her and I was just a kid at the time, I made it a big deal, and she gets really mad easily until we punched each other's faces.
