Mikha's POV
This is the most nerve-wracking situation I've ever been in.
My heart is racing so fast I can barely breathe.
A million scenarios are flashing through my mind - Aiah dumping me, asking for a closure.
I've never been this afraid and scared. I've never been nervous in my entire life, not even during academic contests or other competitions I've joined.
But this... this silent treatment Aiah is giving me is squeezing my heart.
I'm so scared of what she's thinking.
I'm currently following her to the elevator.
She's walking so gracefully with her poker face. I admit I noticed a lot of changes in her appearance during our video calls, but this Aiah in front of me is a goddess. She lost weight, but it's not in a bad way. She's still gorgeous as ever. I want to worship her, but her next move is what's occupying my mind.
What if she doesn't love me anymore?
What if this is the end of us? What if she won't listen to me?
What if she's already given up?
I'm trying hard to hold back tears as we step inside the elevator.
She presses the button for the third floor. I look straight into her eyes, those eyes that used to be so serene but are now obviously full of worry. And it saddens me because I know the reason. I did this to Aiah, though it wasn't really me.
"Flowers..." I whisper, handing her the flowers.
She looks me in the eyes too, like she's studying me. I beg her to listen to me with my eyes. And she seems to read it. My Aiah knows everything about me, so she will read it.
She accepts the flowers, but her expression is unreadable. It feels like she's confused but wants to say something to me. Her eyes want to say not just a paragraph but a whole book.
"Aiah..." I try to speak up, but I feel my tears wanting to come out, so I look up to stop them.
"You lost a lot of weight, Mikha." She whispers, looking at my face. I see her stopping her hand from touching me, like she wants to hold my face.
Why are you stopping yourself, love? I know your heart wants to believe me.
It hurts knowing Aiah doesn't trust me in this situation, but I want to prove her wrong. I can't lose her.
"I'm having difficulty managing my time." I smile to ease her worry because I know she's worried. I can feel it.
But I'm still scared that she might break up with me.
She looks at the flowers I gave her.
Her hands are fidgeting.
Then my knees feel weak as my heart clenches like I'm about to collapse when she utters a word while her tears finally flow down her cheeks.
3rd PERSON POV
At the lobby.
"Aiah, no!" Maloi is about to follow Aiah and Mikha, but Stacey pulls her out of the condo.
"What the hell are you doing, Stacey? Get off me!" Maloi tries to free herself from Stacey. But Stacey is too strong and pulls Maloi until they reach the car they rented.
"Shut the fuck up, sit there and let's talk somewhere." Stacey makes Maloi sit down in the backseat. Jhoanna and Sheena sit on her side to prevent her from escaping, while Colet sits in the driver's seat and Stacey sits beside her.
