Mikha's POV

I was busy cooking in the kitchen when Justin, one of my staff, came looking for me.

"Miks, someone wants to talk to you," he stated as he untied my apron, signaling that I should go face the visitor.

"Decision ka, are you the boss here?" I raised my eyebrows at him.

He chuckled, put on the apron I was wearing, and pushed me to go outside the kitchen.

"I tried talking to him as the manager of this restaurant, but he's looking for Mikha Lim, which is you," he rolled his eyes.

"He seems to be a rich client, miss ma'am. He's on table four."

I shook my head as I went to see the person who wanted to see me.

I saw him sitting at table four.

"Mabuhay! I'm Mikha Lim. The owner and cook of this restaurant, how may I help you?" I greeted him with enthusiasm.

"Sit down, Ms. Lim. I want to talk to you." He gestured me to sit down.

I settled in as he offered a handshake.

"I am Maki, an event organizer like you, Ms. Lim."

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Maki." I greeted.

He pulled out a paper, more like a contract, from his envelope and handed it to me.

"I know you already heard that a famous model will come to the Philippines for a charity drive around the Philippines. So she'll be staying here for around 2 months for that event. And sadly, my kitchen team resigned from their work, so I really need you." Maki stated straightforwardly.

I read the contract. It stated that I only needed to be the chef and cook for the staff and special visitors of... Of Aiah Arceta.

"Why did you choose me?" I asked, my eyes lingering on the name of my ex-lover.

"Because you're the best chef in town, Mikha Lim."

I contemplated accepting this, but I'm sure I'll accept a lot of money.

Am I ready to face the person who I loved the most but cheated on me?

I looked at the payment for the contract.

7 digits.

I remembered Sheena.

If I accept this, I can now afford Sheena's medical expenses and Gehlee's tuition.

I will do this for my family.

Aiah POV

My charity drive started in the squatter area, where people badly needed help and financial assistance.

I just talked briefly in the middle of the crowd, giving them motivational quotes and encouraging them to dream bigger and higher.

After my speech, I went to the tent to get some food.

Maloi and I aren't okay yet, so she didn't come with me.

She told me that she doesn't like to interact with dirty people.

How arrogant.

Maki, my event organizer, served me the food I requested: grilled chicken.

I sliced it and shoved a piece into my mouth.
