Angela looks at herself in the mirror. She felt like a different person is looking back at her. She takes a deep breathe and exits the bathroom. Maggie is most likely waiting for her. She had decided to get ready with her at Maggie's apartment. She needs this night to go right. Just let herself go loose and have some fun. She wants nothing in her mind. Her phone goes off and its Maggie texting letting her know everything is set at the pavilion.
Angela grabs her bag ready to go out. An ache in her chest makes her take a deep breathe. Counting to ten she exits the apartment and makes her way downstairs. She stops at the bottom of the stairs. She's surprise to find Tony standing there and her heart starts racing. He stands there with his hands in his pockets. He looks awkward and uncomfortable just standing before her.
"You look beautiful," He states looking at her.
Angela can feel a bit of blush building in her cheeks. She can feel her heart beat faster. She's scared to even move an inch or speak a word. She never apologized to him for being so mean to him. She had hoped he had kept his distance away from her.
"Is it alright I'm here?" He asks searching her eyes.
"Yeah," she says snapping out of her frozen state.
Angela rushes to walk past him trying to find other people to occupy herself with. Her arm is caught but gently makes her stop in her tracks. She looks back at him confused by his sudden action.
"Your showing your bruises?" He asks questionably.
"Where?" she asks unaware of her back being too exposed in the dress.
"It on your back," he says quietly, "Lower back."
"I didn't realize," she states looking around.
Angela tries to think for a bit. She should have been smart and tried to wear something more covering. Maybe Maggie has a jacket or something else she can wear. Some people start walking past and she quickly tries to turn her body awkwardly to cover whatever was for show. Tony gently puts his hand on her back and guides her to the side.
"Wear this," Tony says as he takes his jacket off, "Its kinda a chilly."
Angela takes it not thinking it twice as Maggie appears off in the distance. It's a matter of time before she's surrounded by people. She puts on the large leather jacket on.
"Thanks," she says with a small smile.
"This is awkward isn't it?" Tony says taking a step back.
"NO!" she yells unconsciously.
"I mean a little," she says feeling embarrassed, "But stay."
"Okay," Tony says with a small smile.
"Thank you for the Jacket," she says, "I'll return it later."
Angela walks off hurrying towards Maggie taking her arm. She felt so awkward and dumb. Nothing in her brain is working correctly. She should be pushing him away but couldn't bring herself to be more mean to him. His eyes just eat at her soul and she feels so exposed in front of him.
"Is he coming?" Maggies asks.
"Yeah," she answers.
"That's rare," Maggie states, "He usually stays away from our events or us completely."
"Is everything almost done?" Angela asks trying to steer the conversation elsewhere.
"Yes," Maggie answers, "We just need to wait on the switch of shifts for the guards."
"Good. So we should be off to a great party in the next hour," she says with a smile.
Angela could not wait for the booze to be taken out. She just needs to get relaxed for the night. To not worry about nothing but what her next drink will be. Her smile disappears as Lewis steps into her vision.
"What you want?" she asks annoyed.
"I thought we might be able to have some fun tonight together," he states with a smirk.
"Nope," she says trying to walk away.
"Is your mutt keeping you company tonight?" Lewis spews.
Angela bites her lips not trying to provoke or get more angry. She continues to walk away with Maggie on her side. She wants to keep as far distance from him as possible.
"I'm going to the bathroom for a second," she stays seperating herself from Maggie.
"Yeah I'll be with Jessie," Maggie states.
Angela makes her way to the bathroom as she takes her phone out. Which she regrets as soon as she sees message after message. She decides to put away not wanting to deal with him at the moment. She exits the bathroom looking for Maggie or Jessie to stay at their side. Spotting Jessie across the room she starts walking towards him.
Angela stops for a second realizing that Jessie is talking with Tony at the bar. She couldn't avoid him all night so she reluctantly makes her way towards them. Maggie notices her first and meets her off to the side.
"They talk like they been friends this whole time," Maggie states signaling the boys.
"They have a lot in common I wouldn't take it pass them," she says with a small smile.
"Really?" Maggie asks, "I would never have guessed."
"So drinks stop at 10?" Jessie chimes in.
"Yes," she says looking over his shoulder.
Tony has stayed back off to the side. She can tell he's keeping his distance away from her. He's leaning against the bar and has his hands in his pocket. She forces herself to look away.
"Make sure it happens on the clock please," she says, "we don't want to get any trouble tonight."
"Will do," Jessie says.
