Angela lies in bed shifting carefully for not move too quickly. Tony dropped her off at her house the day before. The police just took down a report and left quickly. Thanks to the help of Dyren everything worked out more smoothly than it should have. Anthony stayed very quiet after the clinic. She didn't pressured for him to talk either.
Her father was a different story altogether. The school had called him about the accident and she hadn't realized the calls until driving home. She called him back finding him in complete panic. She tried her best to calm him down and reassure him that she was fine.
Luckily she managed to arrive home before him. The hardest part is her pain, trying not to register it on her face. Anthony had offered to wait with her until her father arrived but she dismissed him. Not wanting him peeking into her life at home. She knew her father would be overly worried when he arrived. Thankfully after a long conversation she had managed to calm him down.
Sleeping most of the morning, Angela decides to finally get out of bed. Her body is still very sore and stiff but she felt better. She knew its going to take her more than one day to get better. Yet, that's all she's giving herself. She been receiving messages from school all day. From people being worried to just commenting on her life. Which always made her laugh how people thought they knew better than her. Her phone once again rings and she decides to answer it.
"Why haven't you answered my phone?" His voice booms angrily.
Angela can feel the headache coming. She fight the groan from escaping her mouth not wanting to make him angrier.
"Sorry baby. Got exams in my classes and they being extra strict," she lies.
"It's alright baby doll. I just wanted to really hear your voice." His honey soaked words hit her with nausea.
"Did you miss me?" She asks rolling her eyes.
"Of course angel baby. You don't know what I would do to have you here with me," he states.
Angela can already image what he would do if she was at his side. She frown but continues with the disgusting conversation.
"Soon baby," she says sweetly.
"I'm getting inpatient baby. Can't we just go ahead with the plan already?" He asks his tone cold and calculating.
"No babe. We gotta be smart about this. Okay?" She says feeling her heart race.
"Do you love me?" He asks.
"Yes I do," she says.
"Then prove it to me angel baby," he demands.
"I will baby but give me time," she says.
There is silence in the other end of the line. Angela removes the phone from her ear and looks at it. The call was still going, she puts the phone back onto her ear.
"Baby?" She asks.
"I won't wait forever."
With those words he hangs up on her. She lets out a long sigh. He's too exhausting to talk to. At least he has calmed down a bit. He was still angry, she could tell but at least he won't call back today.
Angela goes to the bathroom and lets the bath fill with water. She's tired and wants to relax for a minute. Ignoring her image in the mirror she gets into the bath. She lets her aching body melt with the warmth of the water. She stays there until the water turns cold. She gets out and dresses quickly not caring to wet her clothes.
Her father's going to be home soon and she's regretting staying home. Deciding to ignore that obstacle, she gets into her bed. She lays there debating for what feels the longest time. Without thinking about it again she opens her bed side drawer and takes a pill out of a mint container. She swallows and pulls the covers over her head. With her headphone in her ears and the music blasting she drifts to sleep.
Angela wakes up around ten thirty at night. She removes the now silent headphone from her ears. She hears shuffling in the livingroom. Not wanting to attract attention to herself she lies their silently listening. She knows she can not ignore her father too long but she just didn't want to deal with his suffocating attention. The shuffling end about an hour later. Her eyes have gotten heavy once again. So she decides to stay in bed and let the slumber taker once more.
Tomorrow was going to be a long day and she needs all the strength as possible. In the morning she would leave her father a note. She has to remind him that she will be staying at Maggie's tomorrow night. At least this way she stays out of his way until she gets a plan. At the moment she has no mind to lie to him once again.
