"How was Physics?"
"I don't get why people complain," Maggie says taking a bite of her food.
"Because not everyone is excited about it as you."
"Not my fault it come easier to me," Maggie says.
"Did you already finish the bridge project?"
"Almost," she says.
Their sights go to the sound of the door closing. Diane walks towards them, Angela quickly looks away from her. She was still angry about yesterday's situation. Diane has to learn her lesson to not let her stupid emotions take control. Especially over her boyfriend Lewis. If you could say boyfriend.
Diane takes a seat across from her. Angela can feel her eyes on her. She turns to find Maggie staring at her not knowing what to do. She lets out a sigh and looks at Diane. Who is on the verge of tears.
Angela puts down her fork next to her salad. "Diane I got a job for you."
"What is it?" Diane asks timidly.
"A party for Friday," she says.
"Party?" Maggie asks.
"I don't think...." Diane begins to say.
Cutting her off. "Only you can do it. We all been stressed with finals coming up. Let's blow off some steam before we begin grinding the studies."
"It's short notice," Diane says.
"It doesn't have to be big."
"We can also do it at the apartment pavilion," Maggie suggest
"I don't know." Diane says.
"Just think about it," Maggie nudges.
"Hey girls!" Mindy says waving at them.
"Where is Wendy?" Maggie asks.
"She went out to eat with guys," Mindy says.
"The rest of the guys joined except Tyler," Mindy says, "He had to go home early today."
"Tyler has been going home early lately," Angela says questionably.
"He says he'll talk to you about that soon," Mindy says timidly.
"He hasn't let his grades slip so I trust he knows what he's doing," Angela states.
Mindy gives her a smile. Things get quiet and she can feel that stares once again.
"Diane is planning a party for friday. Could you help her?" Angela directs Mindy.
"Really that great!" Mindy says jumping up and down. "We have not had one in a while."
Maggie gives Angela a quick smile before looking at Diane. Diane just nods and gives a small smile. She then looks into her bag and takes out a notebook. Angela just continues eating as the girls continue planning the party. She smiles as a smile appears on Diane's face. She was finally getting into the mood.
Angela hated seeing her down because of stupid Lewis. She didn't understand why Diane dealt with Lewis at all. She knew there was the unspoken rule that the top students to date. But it was never official. There has been circumstances where that was not the case. Yet, Diane put up with all of Lewis's crap. Angela was getting to her limit of her patience with both of them.
Diane had been a strong willed girl and now she was unrecognizable to her. She was so timid and insecure girl. Diane was such a beautiful girl. Angela envies her slightly as her blonde hair and blue eyes could captivate anyone. Her heart was on another level. Always being caring and selfless.
"Who should we invite?" Diane asks while still taking notes of other things.
"Not too many. I don't want a mess."
"What about each queen creating a list in their grade level?" Maggie asks.
"I'll get Tyler to help me with it. He is more social than me." Mindy says.
"I'll send the details to Wendy." Maggie says.
Angela grabs her phone from the table. She opens her social media and thinks before writing her post. Angela tags all her contacts to the post and posts it. The girls phones go off around the same time. All eyes go onto her. Maggie is the only to check her phone.
"The top 20 examinees of Thursday and Friday's exams will be rewarded. More details to be delivered Friday morning by fellow queen Diane." Maggie reads.
"Great idea!" Mindy yells clapping her hands.
"The race will be full throttle," Maggie laughs.
"Contact Ms. Pat to give you the information by friday after school."
"Okay." Diane says.
The bell rings and they all get up from their seats except for Diane. Maggie takes her trash as she watches Diane looking at her notes. Angela signals the girls to go ahead of her. Having no worries about being late to Mr. James lesson. When the girls as far enough not to hear she faces Diane.
"Diane."
"Yes," she softly says.
"If he ever touches you again. I will not respond."
Diane eyes widen and water under her stare. Angela shakes her head knowing her feeling of despair too well. She turns and walks off not wanting to watch Diane break down before her. Lewis will in one way or another was going to pay for every shed that girl has ever shed for his stupid ass.
