Maggie stays quiet as she drives them to school. Angela could feel the tense air only building by the second. She was relieved when they had finally arrive at the school. She is quickly walking towards the garden wanting to be off sight for a minute. With the whispers and stares she was already getting she felt as if they all could see through her.
Letting herself drop onto one of the chairs. Maggie takes a seat across from her still acting shy around her. She wished Maggie had just left her alone. The door soon opens and Jesse appears. Great someone else to be bothered by. She greets him with a huge smile.
"How are you feeling?" Jesse asks.
"Sore but that's all." Lie
"Your school things are in first hour already. Left them there for you yesterday," Jesse says.
"Thank you."
"No problem." Jesse says.
Awkward silence feels the air. She hates the current situation. She has made the stupid mistake with the accident. Rumors are spreading quickly. Her sudden change in behavior was bringing her unwanted attention.
Suddenly the gate slams open. All their eyes travel to Tony who is noticeably angry. Angela stares as he comes straight at her with high speed. She can feel herself become smaller as he approaches her. He leans towards her and his face come close to hers. She could visibly see the fire in his eyes.
"What the hell you doing out of bed?!" He asks.
"I'm fine."
"Bullshit!"
"Angela?" Jesse asks from behind Tony.
"Could I get some space?" She asks.
"If we get a second alone." Anthony demands.
"Can you two give us a minute?" Angela asks.
"Are you sure?" Jesse asks.
"I'll be fine."
"I won't hurt her I promise." Tony says giving her a couple of inches.
Tony stays still till the gate echoes throughout the garden. Angela puts a hand on his chest and pushes him away. Yet, he shortens the distance once again.
"Your eyes are dilated." He says softly.
"What?" She asks not registering his comment.
"You know what," he exclaims.
"I'm not stupid! I understood what Dyren was saying the other day," Tony says.
Angela keeps her sight on him. He was still there staring at her with anger flaring in his eyes. Tony leans closer to her once again putting his hand on the rest. She is too focus on his flickering eyes to catch the other hand go to her rib cage. It's a light touch but it causes her to flinch.
"Ouch!" She exclaims.
"This is not being fine. Get help before it gets worse," he says worryingly.
"I just needed a little pick me up. I'm fine," she confesses.
"It's called a problem," he states, "not even the accident made you aware of it."
"I had the accident because I got distracted," she states.
"Understand that what you doing is not good," he sadly says.
"Fuck off already!" She exclaims as her patience runs out.
"Damn do your little friends know this side of you?" He asks.
"Why are you so interested in my life?" She asks.
Silence surrounds them and he steps away from her.
"We used to be like family," he states.
"Key word is used to before your family decided to fuck me!" She exclaims.
Angela can see the hurt in his eyes. She turns away knowing she can not continue with her words while looking at him.
"Every time I see you I'm reminded of him. Did you know that. That's why I kept my distance from you. I hate you! I hate you for even existing!" She yells.
Ringing interrupts the tension between them. She decides to let it ring but it begins once again. Angela searches her bag for her phone. Looking at the number she turns it off. Putting it in her pocket her sight returns to Tony before her.
Anthony had pain clearly portrayed in his face. Tears swell in her eyes and she wants to take it all back.
"How long are you going to stay around?" She asks.
"I'm sorry," Anthony mutters.
Angela stays put trying to breathe as the tears overwhelm her. He didn't deserve that attack. She hates herself for even muttering those words to him. But she had to find a way to create that distance once again. He couldn't get involve in her life anymore.
