Thursday arrived with clear skies and the warmth of the summer sun. Y/N had been looking forward to today ever since Shuji texted her about hanging out. It was the first real social event she had been invited to since moving to Franklin County, and she couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

She spent the morning carefully choosing an outfit, settling on a casual yet stylish look-a pair of baggy jeans, a comfortable graphic tee, and her favorite sneakers. After a quick breakfast, she applied a bit of makeup, making sure to keep it light and natural. She wanted to make a good impression without seeming like she was trying too hard.

As she finished getting ready, her phone buzzed with a message from Shuji: "Hey, I'm on my way! Be there in 10."

Y/N took a deep breath, trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach. She grabbed her skateboard and bag, making sure she had everything she might need and headed downstairs. Just as she reached the bottom step, there was a knock on the door.

Opening it, she found Shuji standing there with a friendly grin. He looked effortlessly cool in his jeans and a band tee, his skateboard tucked under one arm.

"Ready to go?" he asked.

"Yep, let's do this," Y/N replied, feeling a surge of confidence.

They started walking to the skate park, enjoying the summer breeze and the sound of birds chirping. Shuji took a few detours to show Y/N some local landmarks and she found herself relaxing and enjoying the walk.

When they arrived at the skate park, the scene was lively. Kids and teens of all ages were there, skating, biking, and hanging out.

Shuji led her over to a group of his friends, who were gathered near one of the ramps. "Hey everyone, this is Y/N," he introduced her. "She just moved here."

A chorus of greetings followed, and Y/N smiled, feeling welcomed

"This is Andy, Dean, Jordan, and Kira," Shuji pointed out his friends, who each gave her a nod or a wave. Kira, a girl with vibrant blue hair, offered her a warm smile.

"Nice to meet you, Y/N," Kira said. "I didn't know we were getting a new skater in town."

"Thanks for having me," Y/N replied, feeling the last of her nerves melt away.

"And you already know Evan," Shuji added, and Evan waved with a grin.

The afternoon was a blur of fun and laughter. Y/N was no stranger to skating, and she quickly joined in, impressing Shuji and his friends with her skills. They skated together, showing off tricks and challenging each other to friendly competitions.

During breaks, they lounged on the grass, sharing stories and snacks. Y/N learned more about each of Shuji's friends, and they seemed genuinely interested in getting to know her.

Y/N found herself feeling like she belonged, something she hadn't felt in a long time. Shuji's friends were welcoming and kind, making her transition to a new place much easier.

As they finished skating and the group started to disperse, Shuji turned to Y/N. "Hey, I'll walk you home."

"Thanks, Shuji," Y/N said, grateful for his kindness.

The walk back to her house was filled with the soft sounds of the evening and their easy conversation. They chatted about their favorite music and shared more about their lives. By the time they arrived at Y/N's house, she felt a genuine connection with Shuji.

"Thanks for today," Y/N said as they reached her doorstep. "I had a really great time."

"Me too," Shuji replied, smiling. "Let's hang out again soon, yeah?"

"Definitely," Y/N agreed, feeling a warmth spread through her.

''but why wait do you wanna come in?'' y/n asked with a small grin.

''yeah sure'' shuji answered while walking in behind y/n

they made their way up the stairs to y/ns room

''nice room'' shuji says

''Well thank you'' you answer while sitting down on your bed, shuji sits on the edge of the bed.

'' so how was your old school like?'' he asks

''It was fine I guess, lots of rumors you know'' you say rolling your eyes at the thought of your old school. you were a good student but other people talked a lot of shit about you, some girls got jealous because of the attention you got from some boys. even to the point that they started to make fake rumors about you sleeping with half of the school and calling you a whore. or making comments'' like bet she gonna end up like her mom, for being such a slut''

''oh okay, well I'm here for you just so you know'' he answered

'' thank you shuji that's sweet''

y/n couldn't lie that she enjoyed being with him, but she was afraid of getting hurt. none of her friendships and relationships ended well, she got used a lot and a lot of people believed all the rumors. which didn't make it easier. so she stopped trusting people even her mom, she was talking about how she would always change but it was always the same stupid lie.

you and shuji talked for a few more hours until it was time for shuji to get home.

''okay bye shuji, get home safe'' you say while standing in the doorway while shuji is in front of you.

''yeah I will, ohh yeah have one more thing'' he says

''yeah whats up'' you responde

''so there is this party this Saturday it's for all the 8 graders, to chill before school starts on Monday and I wanted to know if you would come with me'' he asks with a hopeful smile

''ofc i would love to'' you say

''ight nice, I'm gonna pick you up at seven'' he says with a smirk

''you do that'' you say smirking back while giving him a quick kiss on the cheek

''bye shujiiii'' you say while quickly closing the door in front of his now red face.

you giggle a bit while running up the stairs to your room.

As the day grew late, she changed into her pajamas and reflected on the day's events. She felt a sense of belonging and excitement for the future. Before long, the weariness from the day's activities began to take over, she was thinking about shuji inviting her to a party and the great time she had and she drifted off to sleep with a smile on her face.
