12. Miranda

I just woke up and started getting ready for school. I walked downstairs to pack my lunch because I wasn't eating that cafeteria food. I packed a sandwich, some cookies, and water. After getting ready and starting to walk out the door, my phone rang with a message from Shuji.

"Picking you up with the carpool. My mom wanted to drive you," he messaged.

Then I heard a honk outside. I walked out to see a car standing in the driveway, and Shuji opened the door as I walked over to get in.

"Good morning, Yuki," I said, sitting down next to Shuji.

"Good morning, honey. How are you?" she asked.

"I'm good, thank you," I replied, turning around to say hi to Maya and Anna. "Hi," I said with a smile.

"HI, Y/N!" Maya said with a big smile while Anna stared at me. I turned to Shuji, but he was already staring at me with a big smirk.

"Hey," he said with a grin.

"Hi, Shuji," I said, giving him a quick kiss on his cheek. I saw his face turn a light shade of pink as we drove to school. When we finally arrived and got out of the car, I took his hand and started walking into the building.

"So, what class do you have first?" Shuji asked, squeezing my hand.

"Math, unfortunately," I said, making a face. "You?"

"History," he replied, rolling his eyes. "But at least we have lunch together."

"True," I said, smiling. "It's the best part of the day."

We walked to our lockers, chatting about our plans for the week. The hallway was bustling with students, and the noise level was rising. As we reached my locker, Shuji leaned against the one next to mine, watching me as I grabbed my books.

"Meet you at lunch?" he asked.

"Of course," I replied, giving him a quick kiss. "Have a good class."

"You too," he said, smiling as he walked away.

I headed to my math class, feeling the usual mix of dread and determination. The class passed by in a blur of equations and notes, and soon enough, it was time for lunch. I met up with Kira in the hallway, and we walked to our usual spot together.

"Hi, guys," Kira and I said as we sat down. I sat next to Shuji, and Kira sat next to Evan.

"Hey, baby," Shuji said, giving me a kiss on the lips.

"Hi," I replied, blushing.

The whole group erupted in a chorus of "oooOOOOoooo" and started whistling.

"Oh, fuck off," Shuji said, and I just giggled.

The rest of lunch was filled with chatter and laughter, jokes flying around the table. It felt so natural and easy being with my friends and Shuji, a perfect break from the school day.

As the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch, we all stood up and gathered our things.

"Bye, babe. See you later," Shuji said, giving me a quick kiss.

"Bye, see you later," I said back, smiling as I walked into my next class.

After school, I was walking down the hallway when someone stopped me.

"Hey, Y/N," Miranda said with a smile.

"Oh, hi," I replied.

"I wanted to ask if you wanted to come over tonight. It's gonna be me, Stevie, and Charney. Oh, also some boys will come," she said with a smirk.
