**Y/N's POV**

The next day dawned bright and early, and I was filled with anticipation. Today was the day of my date with Shuji. I could hardly contain my excitement as I thought about the new café downtown we were going to explore. I still had a few hours before Shuji would arrive, but I wanted everything to be perfect.

I decided to take my time getting ready. I rummaged through my wardrobe, looking for the perfect outfit. The early 2000s fashion was all about fun, colorful, and slightly quirky styles. I finally settled on a cute, pastel-colored tank top, paired with some baggy jeans and my favorite sneakers.

I brushed my hair and let it flow naturally. Looking in the mirror, I smiled at my reflection. I wanted to look nice but still feel like myself. Satisfied with my outfit, I moved on to my makeup. I went for a natural look with a touch of shimmery eyeshadow, a bit of mascara, and a swipe of glossy lip balm.

After I was ready, I had a little bit of time to kill. I decided to listen to some music to calm my nerves. I put on my favorite CD and danced around my room, singing along to the familiar tunes. It was a great way to pass the time and keep my mind occupied while I waited.

Finally, the moment arrived. I heard the doorbell ring, and my heart skipped a beat. I quickly grabbed my small shoulder bag and rushed downstairs to answer the door. As I opened it, there stood Shuji, looking cool and relaxed in his vintage band tee and cargo pants. His hair was styled just right, and his smile made my heart flutter.

"Hey, Y/N," Shuji greeted me, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Hey, Shuji," I replied, my own smile matching his. "Ready to go?"

"Absolutely," he said, offering me his hand.

I took his hand, and together we walked down the street towards the café. The sun was shining, and the air was filled with the promise of a perfect day.

As we arrived at the café, I couldn't help but feel a little nervous. This place was new, and I hoped it would live up to the hype. The exterior was charming, with a cute sign and fairy lights decorating the entrance. We walked in, and the cozy atmosphere immediately put me at ease.

Shuji and I found a table by the window and sat down. The café had a delightful array of pastries and drinks, and we spent a few minutes browsing the menu. After making our choices, we placed our order and settled into an easy conversation.

"So, how's your day been so far?" Shuji asked, leaning forward slightly.

"It's been great," I replied. "I've been looking forward to this all week."

"Me too," Shuji admitted, his smile growing wider. "I was a little nervous, to be honest."

"Nervous? You?" I teased, raising an eyebrow. "You always seem so cool and confident."

He laughed, shaking his head. "Trust me, I was definitely nervous. But now that we're here, I feel a lot better."

Our conversation flowed effortlessly, and before we knew it, our drinks and pastries arrived. We savored the delicious treats and continued talking, sharing stories, and laughing together. The café was the perfect backdrop for our date, and I couldn't have asked for a better time.

As the afternoon turned into evening, we reluctantly decided it was time to head back. Walking hand in hand, we made our way back to my house, the streetlights casting a warm glow on the sidewalk.

When we reached my door, I turned to Shuji, "Would you like to stay overnight?"

I could see that he was a bit surprised by my question. "Yeah, I don't mind. I didn't want our date to end anyway," he said with a small grin.

"Haha, okay then, let's go up to my room," I said while opening the door and pulling him up the stairs.

I walked over to my bed and sat down. I heard Shuji ask, "Is your mom home?"

"Huh? Oh, nah, she's out somewhere," I responded.

"Oh, cool," I heard him say before sitting down next to me.

We sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, just enjoying each other's company. Shuji reached for my hand, and I felt a warm, reassuring squeeze. I turned to look at him, and our eyes met, filled with unspoken feelings.

"I had a really great time today," I said softly.

"Me too," he replied, his voice equally gentle. "I'm glad we did this."

I leaned in closer, resting my head on his shoulder. It felt so natural, so right. Shuji wrapped his arm around me, holding me close. We sat like that for a while, just basking in the comfort of each other's presence.

As the evening grew later, we found ourselves talking about everything and anything. We shared our dreams, our fears, and our favorite memories. Time seemed to fly by, and before we knew it, the night had grown deep.

"I'm really glad we met," Shuji said, breaking the comfortable silence.

"Me too," I replied, smiling up at him. "I feel like I've known you forever."

Shuji chuckled softly. "Yeah, it feels like that, doesn't it?"

I saw him slowly leaning in, as I did the same. Our lips connected in a soft yet passionate kiss. I felt him pull me closer, one hand on my waist and the other on the back of my head. I smiled into the kiss and felt him do the same. Eventually, we pulled away, just smiling and staring at each other.

"I enjoyed this," I said with a small chuckle.

"Yeah, me too," he responded, a grin on his face.

We both started to feel the effects of the long day. Shuji yawned, and I couldn't help but laugh. "Looks like someone's tired," I teased.

"Yeah, I guess so," he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Come on," I said, standing up and pulling him to his feet. "Let's get some rest."

We settled into my bed, side by side, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of peace wash over me. I felt him pull me closer and put his arm around me as I drifted off to sleep.

Then, Shuji suddenly whispered, "Y/N?"

"Yes, Shuji?" I said, turning around to face him.

"I know it's not the most romantic way to ask but, could I be your boyfriend?" I felt my face heat up.

"A feminist, aren't we, huh?" I responded with a smirk.

"Oh, shut up, sweetheart," he said, his voice now deeper and sleepier.

"Oh, giving me pet names already, huh? I didn't even answer your question yet," I teased, noticing his smile drop for a moment.

"Of course, you can, baby," I said, kissing him. I felt him smile into the kiss as I cuddled up to him. I drifted off to sleep, knowing that this was just the beginning of something wonderful.
