"James can you grab that book for me?" Regulus asked pointing to a book on the top shelf that he couldn't reach. James stood up and came up behind Regulus to grab the book, pressing up against him, "Here you go." He said smiling.

"But they're 'just friends'" Evan said rolling his eyes.

Sirius looked across the living room to see his brother laid out over James' legs, reading a book. James's hands were playing with Regulus' hair as he talked to some 6th year. "He never lets anyone touch his hair."

"But they're 'just friends.'" Remus said

"Hey Reg, can you grab the sugar for me?" James said to Regulus' who was helping him make dinner for everyone. "He never lets anyone call him Reg!" Barty said, observing the scene from the couch. "And James never lets anyone in the kitchen while he's cooking." Marlene added.

"And apparently they're 'just friends'." Dorcas said from where she was sitting at Marlene feet.

James, Regulus, Mary, Lily and Pandora were at the store, louder and more packed than usual, and this was draining Regulus' social battery just being there looking for stuff. And to add too add to that he left his headphones at home. He was holding onto James' hand and entire arm as he tried to focus on not getting too overstimulated. "He literally never lets anyone except his brother touch him." Pandora whispered to Mary from where they were standing behind James and Regulus, "And that's coming from me, his best friend!"

James pulled his maroon headphones off of his neck and put them over Regulus' ears, and the younger boy squeezed his hand as a thank you.

"Just friends friends my actual ass." Lily muttered.

Peter walked out of the bathroom to see Regulus, who looked like he had just had aTr nightmare, walk down the hallway and straight past his brothers room and right into James' room without even knocking. Peter rolled his eyes, "You cannot be serious, who goes to someone that's 'not his boyfriend' over his brother after a nightmare!?" He says to himself before walking back to his room to scroll through twitter for another few hours.

"Truth or Dare?" Lily asked.
"Truth." Regulus says.

"Is it truth that you and James are dating?"
"What? No."

"Oh fuck me with a chainsaw! YOU'RE SITTING IN HIS LAP RIGHT NOW!" Barty exclaimed
"And? Am I not allowed to sit in my friends lap?"
"NO! YOU'RE NOT!" Dorcas replied, just as fired up as Barty.
"Sorry James, guess I have to mo-"
"-No you don't." James tightened his grip on Regulus' waist.

The entire room groaned (Sirius, Peter, Remus, Pandora, Evan, Mary) and/or screamed (Lily, Dorcas, Evan, Barty, Marlene)

"We're just friends guys!"

"I don't wanna be just friends." James said while he and Regulus were laying in his room. Regulus was laying against James chest reading while James was just sitting there letting Regulus lay on him.
"What?" Regulus put his book down and turned himself around in James' lap so that he could look at him.
"You know I'm always here to give you company, but it just feels like it's not enough for me. I don't wanna be 'just friends.'"
"Really?"
"Yes."

"I don't wanna be just friends either." Regulus' said quietly. The biggest grin spread across James' face, causing Regulus to smile back. "Boyfriends?" "Boyfriends."

Marlene quietly snuck away from the door to the room the new couple was in. since she didn't want James and Regulus to know she was eavesdropping, she waited until she was far enough way before she damn near yelled, "They did it! They finally got together!" Cheers came from the living room from everyone, finally they didn't have to deal with the "We're just friends" bullshit any longer.
